Love late 90s/early 00s Madonna sooo much. OG fans like myself, who were teens in the 80s, were now nearing 30. We adored that she was as bold, energetic and trendsetting as ever and also really appreciated hearing her be more "grown up" in interviews and having really thoughtful, intelligent insights about life. Slogan tees were a big trend and she really used them to convey her maternal feelings, both for her actual children as well as shouting out other female artists like Kylie and Britney. Her's were all made by Dolce & Gabbana. Also, for the first time, nodding to her own nostalgia, reclaiming "Material Girl" and showing off her body of work in the Music background videos. And those squats!! They became a signature move. And if you look, you'll see hers always go harder than any other dancer onstage with her.
I know you keep saying that Music isn’t your favorite song on the album which is cool, but when it was released it was soooo different from anything else that was out and so living through the era and this song was huge.
You should just do the whole Drowned World Tour now.... It was epic because she didn't tour for over 6 or 7 years and she hadn't toured Bedtime Stories, Ray of Light, or Music yet so she had a lot of "new" material to showcase.
This was sort of a Mini Tour to promote the actual DROWNED WORLD TOUR. She did a couple of gigs in night clubs in NY and the UK. I believe this was also a way for Madonna to "warm up" (so to speak) as she had not done a tour in 7 years. The longest she has been without touring.

Drowned World Tour, then the Re-Invention Tour, the iconic Confessions Tour, and the record breaking Sticky & Sweet Tour... plus all of the small gigs in between, the 2000s is my favourite Madonna decade
Madonna wanted Impressive Instant as 4th single, but warner brothers wanted amazing as single but Madonna thought amazing sounded simimar to beautiful stranger and you know Madonna, she never repeats. Madonna really wanted Impressive Instant as single due to its futuristic techno beats but her record label thought it was too "underground" for the time and the song wouldn't connect with the audience. At the end Impressive Instant was only a single in the dance radio airplay with remixes by the late Peter Rauhofer and the album got only 3 official singles. I was 19 that summer of 2000 and I remember thinking how good, futuristic and experimental the entire album was (and is). The version of Impressive Instant from 2001's Drowned World Tour still amazes me! Must see!😊
Also, Warner planned to release Amazing anyway and use the live performance from the tour as the video. In response, Madonna removed Amazing from the set list and ironically, replaced it with Beautiful Stranger.

"Music" (2000) is not in my Top 5 favorite Madonna albums but I adore the the Music era - her cowgirl style (Beyonce was definitely inspired by it), performaces, the tour. I remember back in 2000-2001 everyone started to copy Madonna's images and style. That futuristic sound of her songs still sounds modern
I was outside the venue trying to get in 😂 but they put a screen or projected the show on the wall on the side of the venue for all the fans that couldn’t get in. It was amazing, Kylie was there too. I’ll never forget that night, I wish i got in.

If she's gonna do a tour with the age of 70 or higher, don't expect any of the dancing like Brixton Academy but I can assure you, her energy is gonna be still there. Do not miss it.

Secondly, if you think that’s good just wait until you watch The Drowned World Tour, which was the tour for both the Music and Ray of Light album combined (with a very small handful of older hits sprinkled thru out). It’s truly one of the greatest things she’s ever done. Even by 2024 standards it’s just one of the very best live shows in popular music. - You look so cute with the cowboy hat. I hope you wear it thru out the day, too. Ha.
Music is a weak album. Some good tracks.. but mostly a poor follow up to ROL. She was trying to be edgy but something was missing from the album. Mediocre. I still bought everything from 2000 M though lol
