Been there last week, truly amazing indeed. Knossos is pretty tourist heavy and hot af. Going there RIGHT when it opens is pretty important.. :) But I hope you will enjoy it! Gortyn, Phaistos, Knossos, the Arkadi Monastery and the Museum in Heraklion were the absolute high lights.
Remember in that time in the game was in ancient greece,in that time in the game thera/Santorini was just a volcanic island with some ruins,now it is beautiful with blue and white houses and swimming pools,but in that time thera/Santorini was unhabitite!

I'm actually going to Crete next month. It'll be weird to actually walk in a real location you've previously only ever walked in a video game

Greece is BEAUTIFUL and AC Odyssey is amazing.
