  • The Rio Storto is less well known than the Lumiei, not quite as deep and impressive, but a bit more fun and still very beautiful. The very cold water of the Rio Storto runs into the beautiful Sauris lake (which is much warmer in the summer, an interesting difference at the end of the tour).
Beware at the rappel @1:45. The rocks are only very loosely covering a ~15m deep hole, which is often not visible at all. I almost fell down here when a rock just slipped away below me. This rappel needs a new anchor, as the old ones are very high up.
    Parking: 46°26'33.1"N 12°43'30.7"E
Ascent: Head back over the bridge and follow the road up for 2 km until a dirt road branches off on the right. Follow the dirt road for a few 100 m until you reach the second river crossing, which is the rio storto. (20 - 30 min)
Descent: Cold water, rappels, jumps, slides and nice corridors. Rio Storto has an open - narrow - open - narrow pattern, where the second narrow section is longer and more beautiful than the first. (2,5 h)
The way back: Swim out into the lake for a few meters until you see your car on the left. Make your way up here. (1 min)
Some anchors are fine, some are in need of replacement (summer 2024).
