The beginning of a new week and only 2 days till Valentine's Day. For myself and a wonderful human shall be spent with me cuddled on her lap watching the video. P.S. Can you believe it, snowed overnight and we just got rid of it. Guess we should be grateful, the storm that hit Nova Scotia, a week and a half ago had at least 5 feet plus of snow OMG. 🐈⬛🐈⬛Good day, it's Friday the first week of the new year and it's finally snowing YUCK. Thankful to be an indoor cat, it was not so great for my human. She had to clean off the steps and apparently, it was very cold outside. As for me, I was comfortably cuddled up in her chair watching my friends entertain me with the silly running around in circles trying to catch each other's tails with so success. However, there is one Squirrel who must be the boss of the group because She/he tends to stand tall on the tree stump overseeing things. Probably lady squirrel, we tend to have more leadership skills, I'm sure, as lady cat I certainly rule my domain quite effectively. Good Morning. Hi to my Squirrels and Birds who I trust will be even more hilarious today, need some exercise because it's still freezing, with, lots of white stuff. Thank goodness I can keep my human warm, it's a bit depressing for her with no sunshine. Mind you I'm amazed at times when big snowflakes come down, my human says it's snow coming off the apartment roof, and other times I can't see anything, it's something called a blizzard! Well, I have to get on with the video. Have a nice Friday and a fun weekend, I plan on doing more running around the place and tossing my toys to entertain my human who seems to enjoy it, for some reason it makes her laugh. MaxMan and I were enthralled this am with this video. You had one enterprising squirrel continually burying the nuts all around the stump. In about 20 years, you're going to have a great forest there!!!! Questions for you: do you have multiple feeding areas set up at the same time? I noticed in the right background of this video a whole bunch of birds feeding and though you might have something set up back there for a different video. Also, I've noticed a difference in the spotted woodpeckers. I have seen ones with no red on their heads or necks and assumed they were mature females. I have also seen ones with a red bar across the back of the head and thought those were mature males. However, I have also seen ones with the red right on top of their heads. Are those immature males or immature males and females and the red will eventually either disappear if it's a female or morph to the back of the head if it's a male?
Ah yes, I'll get back you in 20 years about that forest😁 So, to your questions: birds in the background - when I move my sets around, there's always some leftover feed in the old place, which they clean it up then. The woodpeckers: the ones with the red cap on top of their heads are young ones, no matter the gender. Very considerate setup for the little guys. So sweet to watch them play. However, I am quite curious as to all manner of seemingly bizarre noises I hear in the distant background. If anyone else has noticed these noises- and can possibly name what curious creature might be making them- I would sure like to know where such diverse nature is available.
We have extensive fields around us, where migratory whooper swans are gathering in spring and autumn. Also there are at least 2 pairs of common cranes living there and I believe you hear their sounds in the background. They make loud calls that echo across the fields. They are most chatty in early mornings. One pair starts the call and the other pair answer from the other side of the fields. This video was filmed in South-West Finland. Thank you for watching!
