I accidently came across the deuter and had been leaning toward the poco. But it was cheaper than buying the poco because it was on sale. I'm SO happy I got the kid comfort. My sons comfort was my main reasoning for picking (aside from the discount), and mine says it's this style, but it does have a built-in sunshade, I believe. I'll double-check it. The deuter is definitely the most comfortable baby pack I've had.
Hi! Thanks for your video. I just got the Deuter & still watching comparison videos bc it was hard to compare without having one in hand to try out! Anyway, this helped me feel more confident with my purchase. I wanted to point out for anyone watching that you don't have to store the sun visor in the bottom zip pouch. It actually fits quite nicely in the elastic pouch at the top (branded with Deuter). Slide the rounded part down & the stock pole things can stick a little out the top (tip - criss cross them under the closure to be more secure). I also saw someone twist the visor around to collapse it to half the size and fit under neath that same pouch (access it at the bottom & behind the Deuter branded pouch with Velcro). It fits there nicely too without taking any other storage! It'll feel like you're breaking it to twist it around to be half the size, but it's fine. Hope this helps! 🤗

I have the Poco, and the openings for the legs are narrow. We can't use it in colder weather due to this, as it becomes too constrictive. Just taking my son out of the poco while wearing shorts and sandals is a bit annoying, as I have to lift him a bit, lean him over/on the top of the Poco, and help him git his feet through the narrow openings for the legs. I have tried the Deuter, and that one have no such problem. I will be selling my Poco and getting a Deuter Kid Comfort.
Hi, yes there is more wriggle room in the Deuter carriers which is useful for older children. Have you managed to lower the seat in your Poco as this will give you more clearance around the leg openings.

I do like the narrow enclosure of the child, because that allows us to use it without the harness, and I’m not sure the Deuter is good for that. I know we are supposed to use the harness, but he’s sitting very still and I think he understands that he have to (he is 2 years, 4 months).
Wondering about how well they fold up. We would be taking ours on planes often and haven’t been able to find much on how easily they fold in those situations. Thanks
Hi, good question. Neither of these carriers fold down small to be fair. The height and width stays the same but you can reduce the depth slightly by pulling the stand in. You can buy a carry case to go with the Osprey Poco and Poco Plus which is really hand it you are taking it travelling: www.littleadventureshop.co.uk/products/osprey-poco-baby-carrier-carry-case I haven't go the dimensions to hand but it fits the carrier pretty snugly. The other option is the Osprey Poco LT which is a significantly smaller carrier and ideal for lots of plane travel. Hi, I think you can wear the Osprey Poco at 5'2" - it you have long hair don't wear a pony tail as the back of the carrier will hit it and it's really annoying! If you don't get on with the Poco then have a look at the Deuter SL Kid Comfort which has a shorter back system.

Hi there. In truth, no baby carrier is designed to act as a 'roll cage' in the case of a significant fall, so we'd be hard pushed to make a recommendation for that scenario. That said, they both have excellent padding all round and very good harness systems so your baby is protected from a fair amount of adverse movement. We've run two children through ours and I don't ever recall having a stumble that would have caused us to fall over in a significant way. Sorry - that's probably not the ideal answer you were looking for, but we'd be hesitant to make a recommendation for a scenario that the carrier is not specifically designed to protect. Hope it was at least helpful in some way.

Hi, if tightened correctly both the harness systems in the Deuter and Poco baby carrier will hold you child securely. The main difference is that the pod of the Poco has more rigid sides that the Deuter and there is a bit more room in the Deuter. The room can make it easier to layer up your child and get them in an out as they get older but it can look a bit big (hence the slipping comment I expect) when they are very young. The Poco can look more supportive (particularly when you baby is tiny) as the sides are stiffer and higher at the front.
Hi, if you're 5'2" I would recommend the Deuter Kid Comfort SL. I think you'll find that both of these carriers will be too long for you so the top of the harness area will be annoying and hit the back of your head.
Hello! Recently purchased a used poco plus- this video was super interesting to highlight some of the features. However, how on earth do you fold it down?!? I can fold the bottom section but how do you fold up the cockpit area? I’m struggling!😂
You can fold it down. Unclip the red buckles and pull out/push down the sides. We have the Poco plus and it folds down nicely and Osprey has a nice storage/traveling bag it fits in.

Love the review! I live in a warmer climate, Southeast USA, and I tried the Poco on in store and was impressed. I had already ordered a Kid Comfort though and it just arrived today. I think it’s equally great and both are very comparable. Which pack do you think would breathe better? I guess my concern is the Deuter may be a bit warmer or not provide enough air flow for warmer climates. Thank you.
Hi John, Thanks for watching! That's a really good question. They are both excellent carriers in terms of breathability as they both use a suspended mesh back-system which allows the air to circlulate behind your back. We personally used the Kid Comfort for our kids (the Poco wasn't available to us then) and found it to be a great all-rounder. If I had to put my money on one choice, I'd say the Poco just pips the KC in terms of ventillation, due to a slightly more open mesh system and also using more mesh all over the carrier, but we are really splitting hairs at this point. The KC is an excellent carrier, and is a really strong perfomer right across the board. I think you could wear it comfortably in any temperature and be very happy. So in summary - if you absolutely want the best ventillation/cooling, go for the Poco, but the difference is fairly small. They are both awesome carriers and we would happily use either!
Hi, just wondering which one would be better for a 198 cm tall person? We currently have a Deuter Comfort Kid (an old version) but somehow we cannot secure the hip belt over the hip bones (the belt comes much higher). It also seems that our toddler always bounces to one side (I believe she doesn't like to watch her daddy's back:) but I guess that is normal?
Hi there, good questions. At 198cm tall you'll be near the max height range of the carriers. However the carriers have become al lot more adjustable over the years so you may find that a newer model would allow you to get the hep belt in the correct position with the shoulder straps at the max height. I think it's quite common for the children to move to one side either for a nap or to see what is going on. If you make sure the baby seat is lowered (I can't remember when this was introduced as a feature - but I think it's been around for quite a while) as your child grows it should stop them leaning too far out!

Hi there. On both packs the child is sitting on a fabric seat that bears their full weight. The shoulder harnesses are there to stop them falling out if there's any sudden movement or the adult stumbles. Hope that helps!
Hi from the Dolomites, I have just recently discovered your channel and have been really enjoing your review videos. I have some doubts and hope you can advise. We have tried a couple Deuter kid carriers (older and newer versions) and the only feature that did not impress me was that, due to the "foldable" cage, the baby seemed sometimes to fold against the adult's back like a book. I saw this as a con and was therefore looking at the Osprey one because of its rigid cage. Do you reckon the foldable cage is a con or can it be seen as an advantage in some scenarios? What is your idea about the "folding" issue after trying them both? Lastly, in other reviews I saw that the Osprey is not suitable for slighter shorter people, whereas the Deuter's back is slightly shorter in the S size (I'm 1.60 m). Would highly appreciate your advice! Thank you so much
Hi Sara, sorry for the delaying in replying, we've been away on holiday. Sometimes the Deuter baby carriers "folding in" as you describe is due to the set up. If you have the top straps above the shoulder harness (adult harness) too tight it can pull the baby carrier forward and there for the seat leans a little forward too. Try taking more weight through your hips and loosen the shoulders a little and see if this helps. I think the main difference with the sides of the carrier are that with the Deuter it opens out a little more so can be easier to get you child in when they are bigger. I think you would be find with the Osprey Poco at 1.6m. My sister in law is the same height and loves carrying her son in the Poco. I hope this helps

Hi, yes you can grab the stand when you are wearing the carrier and pull it in towards you.

Mine had a daypack included that will clip to the front of the kid carrier also!
