These breakdown videos are so great. I have surfed for a long time and know what I am feeling in board's but to hear the actual science behind the reason for the feeling is so cool. It's made me realise why I love swallow tails so much because I like attributes to both squash and round but get the feeling of both on a swallow. It's so good to realise what your feeling is the purpose of the design. Can you do a full breakdown of the sinnr ? Concaves rocker tail fin placement and size recommendations etc. I love your shape's and the sinnr really has me interested.
Hey Wesley! So stoked you're enjoying the content! We will absolutely be doing surfboard reviews on the SINR in the future. We are currently working on a surfboard review of the Soul Fish which will be coming out this Sunday so we will keep the SINR in mind to do next!
Ask and you shall receive! We have more Master Shaper Glenn Pang Tutorials coming soon! Please subscribe to not only support the channel but to also get notified when we release the new videos 😃
That's a great short and clear explanation of basic tail shapes. There are more of course. The Bat Tail (versions by Tomo and others) - small scallop curves cut into a rounded tail create small tips like mini swallow tips which provide grip and refines the tail area - can be combined with channels to improve directional flow under the board. (Looks like a bat wing too). Then there's asymmetrical tails - which are getting some attention at the moment - Lost and Album have been trying them for a while. Your body isn't symmetrical in applying pressure on the board, so why should the board be that way? Then there's the Australian Bum Tail, which is when you damage your swallow tail so much that all you can do is sand the tips down into rounded bumps - hence the 'bum' or 'booty' outline ... (Australian surf design solves all problems) ... But really we hope Glenn does rails and foils, concaves and rockers - surfers should 'know that board'. A key to progression.
The last 4" of the board are the LEAST important. How quilckly the nose and tail taper, the thickness, the rails, total length, mid board width and glass weight are ALL more important. If you can't surf.... all tails are the same. If you can surf, all tails are the same. Only a TOP professional is going to notice the SLIGHTEST differences in the last 4".... pin, swallow, squash... The MOST important things? Right board for the waves it's being riden on. Right size for the surfer. If you're 200 pounds on a 6' potato chip board in 2' slop, you won't stand up once unless you already RIP in which case, you don't need "which board" tips. It's the Indian and not the arrow that counts.
Can you please go over Billys quiver. Especially bigger boards. His boards look the best for all around surfing in good waves. From 6’4 to 10’4. Mahalos
We will absolutely keep that in mind for future conversations with Billy! Billy has a TON of boards, each tailored to specific waves and conditions. We will have future videos coming out featuring some of our big wave boards that Billy rides regularly as well as other boards that our pro team riders utilize.
I’ve surfed for 25 years and never knew half this stuff. Awesome
Awesome! So glad we could give you some more insight into your surfboards! More videos to come on different surfboard concepts!

boards look so good 🤙
Mahaloz!!!
very insightful vid! i’d like to know - what is the science behind bat tails?
YEEEW!!!🤙🏽
🤙🏼
some absolutely awesome looking boards Glenn. Do your boards make it over here to OZ distributors?
They absolutely do! You can DM our Australian distributor on IG @tandcaloha. They will help you out with getting you anything you need!
You guys should enter the Stab in the Dark contests. Not enough Hawaii shapers in there. I think I've only seen Pyzel and Arakawa.
Diamond tail just like a round tail ? Your thoughts
Does Stu Sharpe still shape TC on east coast??
this would have helped my nintendo skills greatly 🤙

Sweeeet!!!!

who is dennis pang to this guy?
Skip the music next time, hard to hear him talk.
Thank you for the feedback! 🤙🏼
Sick video, great explanation. The music is just a bit too loud, too many different rhythms compared to the pace of his voice. It doesn't fit
Noted!

DESIGN is very important, but have you ever heard of lamination with vegetable resin?
Organic surfboards 😂😂😂
