    love those big wide schecter necks, so much room to move, room for big vibrato and bends.

    Your an amazing guitarist. I always loved the way hellraisers sound with the amazing EMG pickups. That is a very creative song you played. Nice

    You are really freaking good. I am impressed. It's really nice to see someone else play in Drop C for once. I'm getting tired of people dropping passed B. It doesn't sound good. B is almost too low for me. E-C is perfect. Anyway, really good job!

    the main difference is the neck, Damien elite's have bolt on neck, this is a set neck (set necks last longer and generally have a better tone).

    I want this guitar. Every time I go to my music store, I have to feast my eyes on this beauty and I have to play it or else it's not a complete trip. However, I will get this guitar when I feel worthy of it (and when I get the money).

    The special has 81/85 and Jumbo Frets. The regular has 81TW/89 and Jumbo X frets. Hence only about 150 bucks difference in cost, would think there is a bit something more. Maybe different tuners.

    i just got the regular with the 81 and 89 it really is a nice guitar, there is a few different ones that where made. i know i wanted one with out a floating bridge i found one on cragslist for 300.00 with a line 6 spider 30 watt and hard case/stand/50.00 haadphones, un open packs of strings/picks/cables for 300.00. got there checked the guitar over called out the neck dings and got everything for 200.00. It is a great guitar i say anyone looking for one you can get the 81/85 or even the 81/89 .

    i just got a diamond series all so know as c-1 with 81/89 emg active pick ups. i have had guitars with 81/85 and i have to tell you you can not go wrong with these guitars. I do have to say check them over i know mine was abused i got it real cheap do to body/neck dings and the tone knob might need to be seen by a tech. I have seen these guitars for like 250.00 used. If you like metalcore/ metal/rock/punk these are great. they love drop C.

    I have that guitar and it sounds pretty good but there is one problem. Low E string seems to be pretty flabby... I think it isn't string gauge thing. I'm using 0.11-0.56 Ernie Ball beefy slinky in Db standard. You had that problem with your guitar?

    • @OliverLukacs-XXL
      @OliverLukacs-XXL  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      11’s should be thick enough, I usually use 10’s for D flat. Sounds like you have an action issue. You probably have the reverse of my problem here: th-cam.com/video/q0JVCG_gfOY/w-d-xo.html
      Try measuring the gap between the fret and the string at the first fret while pressing down at the 12’th fret.

      I held one at a GC and I have medium hands and fingers, to me it feels great but the only way to know is pick one up yourself. Feel it play it, shred it. The schecter sls have a thinner profile. Check it out my friend. Play it and see for yourself, read the demensions. It helped me a lot and my hands don't hurt lol

    now that's awesome! i have the same guitar and the same amp ;) great taste there, the blackmore is my favourite amp of all time! love the guitar as well, but hated the pickups. but with the duncans it has now there aren't many guitars i like better. btw, what mic did you use?

    • @givemeajackson
      @givemeajackson 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@13guitard00d it's gone through a variety of pickups. i had an sh5 & sh2 set in there, sh4 and sh2, sh10b and sh10n set, and currently it has an sh6 and an sh10n. i don't really love the sh2 in the neck, it's a bit boring, i think the sh10n is just flat out better. the sh5 is djenty as hell, tons of attack, not that much output, but it has so much edge. the sh10 is the smooth, clear and fat sounding one, with the nicest mids, and probably my favourite, but it's currently in another guitar (jackson DK2, with the sh10 it's 80s shred heaven). the sh6 has a ton of output and a very balanced frequency response. i'd say the schecter is the angriest sounding of all my guitars, it has the bridge pickup a bit closer to the bridge than all my other guitars, and combined with the sh6 it is a death metal monster. the sh4 sounds like cardboard imo, it's nasal, dull and boring. it also had a gibson HB-L (1989 Bill Lawrence made les paul pickup i found in a drawer) in the bridge for a while, that thing sounds awesome. currently lives in my strat.
      in terms of hassle, whenever you change a guitar from active to passive you also have to swap out the pots(actives use 20 or 25 kohm pots, passive humbuckers usually use 500kohm pots), so you're looking at a full rewire. it's not hard to do, it takes a bit of time, you'll likely get something wrong on the first try (i've rewired my guitars at least 30 times and i still wire the toggle switch backwards occasionally...), but you can't really break anything. i managed it for the first time as a 14 year old just fine, you can totally do it. i also switched the control layout from 2 vol 1 tone to 1 push pull volume and 1 tone, with a coil splitting option.
      the real hassle with converting a hellraiser into a passive guitar is that it doesn't have a bridge ground wire pre-drilled. some active guitars have one, many don't cause actives don't need it. most people will tell you to drill a hole to the bridge post to ground it. i didn't want to do that, so i ran a thin black wire through the pickup cavity, out underneath the bridge pickup ring, stripped the end, and wrapped it around the bridge post. works just fine, is almost invisible, and i didn't have to take a drill to the guitar. if you need a picture to show you what i mean i can get one for you.
      swapping pickups is lots of fun, i buy every used pickup i come across that's less than 40-50 bucks, and sell the ones i don't like for pretty much the same money. i don't think i would have ever discovered the sh10 set otherwise, i got both of those together for 30, and they're my favourite pickup set. buying EMG equipped guitars is great cause they're super easy to sell and fetch a good price, and then you can install whatever you like. the chance that any guitar you buy comes with the best pickups for you from the factory is so low anyways, none of my guitars still have the same pickups they came with (i sold a lot of sh4s and EMGs lol)

      It sounds fairly decent on low volume as most of the Blackmore's sound comes from the preamp, however louder is better.
