Fun fact: the reason why Poland had so much cavalary is becouse they had it for defense against USSR and it wide fields
To add more context, the Polish army was almost entirely prepared for war with the Soviets, not with the germans and so during the September campaign there were no orders against fighting with Germany making the collapse even fasterr, and when Soviet invasion attacked the Polish army was completly destroyed.

It should be noted that the cavalry did very well during the invasion of Poland, delaying the invasion force on day 1 of WW2, and reversing the advance the 4th Panzer Division at Mokra until forced to withdraw to avoid being encircled.
They only rarely fought from horseback, and when they did charge, they were quite successful (as at Krojanty). Effectively, they were a motorized infantry force that didn't need gasoline.

Honestly out of all the focus trees you can go down in HOI4, Poland easily has the best one when it comes to the mechanics its straight forward, has A FUCK-TON of variety with multiple paths for the same ideology, it doesn't have a crazy complicated system like Italy, Switzerland, and the Soviets. And on top of that the Industry, economic, and military focuses are pretty fleshed out a few focuses could use a shortening of days to 35 but other than that Poland is goated.

This is by far my most played path in the game. Japan showa restoration is second, but I have like 20 hrs in that. This path on the other hand is somewhere around 100 hrs. Out of 500...

It's actually funny why Poland had so much cavalry division in 1936 and 1939.
Polish government expected that Poland will mainly fight Soviets. And Russia is flat and gets muddy. Trucks suck in mud (which is also why IIIrd Reich had quite a few cav brigades and divisions).
Plus Poland didn't have that much automotive industry and in 39 was still modernizing its army.
So the reason Poland had that much cavalry is not melancholy towards hussars but instead lessons from Soviet Union and focus on fighting Russia
