Cats can do the same thing. They get confused when you wear socks because they think that's protective fur, but when you're barefoot, they're so gentle. One of my cats loves playfully biting and just giving love bites. He'll grab my whole hand and nibble on my fingers without breaking the skin with his fangs.
@deydraniadiancecht8298 I hear what your saying but cats don't have the bite force dogs have however they can scratch pretty hard and they don't realize they're hurting you I have friends with cats that are friendly but don't like being held and dig their claws onto me for support as they climb up and down my body and it hurts lol
@@davescire3004 Yeah, cats will struggle for purchase. The trick is to give them support. If you do it right, cats will not feel the need to use their claws even when they want to be put down. This takes practice and I've gotten plenty of scratches while getting that practice. I never get scratched anymore- as long as the cat doesn't get startled, but that's not really their fault. I carry my cats quite often (they will only tolerate being held for about 30 seconds) and it always goes well- as long as they're properly supported.
its second nature. Like at multiple levels. same way you dont bite with 100% force every chew or you can put stuff in your mouth. Same as any animal. And more so them. its like a hand to them. they carry things with their mouth; carry their puppies with their mouth; the chew on themselves to get an itch mouth; they play with other dogs with their mouth. they are not dumb, they understand pain, they can hurt, they know things hurt others, they have innate don't bite hard and though play and interaction they fine tune. Same could be said for a human toddler..
