I bought a Skoda Kamiq signature, smaller on the outside, bigger on the inside, same 1.5 litre drive train with all the bells and whistles that Audi wants to charge as additional extras, for at least $10k less. Not to mention cheaper servicing and 7 yrs warranty. I can’t believe it wasn’t mentioned in your video.

Just do yourself a favour and by a Lexus ux for the same price as this Audi. Much better features and fit and finish and build quality I think. And did I mention reliability as well!

Toyota, like all Japanese manufacturers unfortunately are obsessed with their CVT transmissions 😕

Definitely worth it. Bought an A3 Quattro new from the dealer and have had absolutely zero problems with it. Rides great, has very good power. Wife's Hyundai Elantra needs a new engine just a few years old.

Save yourself $20,000 and buy a top spec Mazda 3 sedan which is 10x better and reliable in all aspects.

Better to spend a bit more and go for the 40tfsi, or save you some money and go for a Golf or maybe Octavia.

@@AndrewTSq My point is the interior in this Audi should be leaps and bounds more premium than the Mazda for the price point. It isn't.

@@adamclayson5347 it differs $1k in price between a new A3 and a new Mazda 3 in Sweden (next to Germany!) so not sure why $1k would be such a difference in premium feel?.

The previous generation sold well because it was a truly premium offering for a good price, two things this generation is not. Better off in a Golf.

In my opinion, Audi has lost its way. There is no logical reason why you would spend equivalent money on an Audi when you could buy a Mercedes (nicer interiors, brand prestige) or a BMW (better driving experience etc). Previously one might purchase an Audi for the slight brand advantage over the equivalent VW, and a nicer interior etc. The upmarket push from VW has negated this and this has shown in the declining Audi sales.
Not to mention the lack of a proper halo model which is critical in any luxury brand. Mercedes has its S Class, BMW has its 7/8 Series and X5/X7 but Audi has a very dated Q7 and an unremarkable A8. People buy branded cars because they want to feel lile they're driving a flagship. The R8 is old now and never lived up to the 1st gen R8 which still looks better than the 2nd gen R8. Audi has well and truly lost its way and I think most buyers can see that.

The A3 outsells the BMW almost 2 to 1 and better value. It is also far better than the expensive bad Mercedes A class with the Renault motor. There is also a facelift coming for the A3 which reportedly gives a more luxurious interior.

fuel consumption seems pretty ordinary , especially needing 95 ron, and the interior is very low rent for the $ , all around pretty bad value it seems

Agree they followed Mercedes and BMW down the well of cheap interiors vs the previous 8V, which had a typically excellent Audi interior quality. Which now seems to be disappearing on most of their new models. So they are walking (running?) away from what used to be a core brand strength.
However, this 8Y version is a much better drive than the 8V in terms of suspension and steering, so depends what's important.
