Yaaaaay! We are so excited to be working with Malev on this! The guy has so many amazing ideas and it's been so cool to see how enthusiastic people are about supporting this project.
Big love my man !! Legit surreal watching you talk about some stuff I created! You have succinctly nailed why the idea took hold in my mind, there are so many fun little ideas to incorporate and theme! It was a great pleasure to demo it for you and have your guy die immediately. Grinding quick on this one!
This gives me another reason to crack open my old DOOM game from Fantasy Flight Games and use some of the demon minis. I might even be able to use the board pieces. If they made this game as a fully tricked out box set... with minis, dice, etc... it would be cool for Malev to include a soundtrack with the rules being the CD case insert. Give it a 90s vibe. Like how the Don't Look Back expansions come in those cool 80s VHS cases. I'm also digging the art and layout. Hope they stick with it if they do an official release.
I got the Alpha rules from the con and loved it. Another real cool thing about this game is you can roll dice really quick. I kept it on my table and would play a round in passing, almost like a game of chess left out. Really excited to see where this game goes and what evolves from it.
This could easily translate to a Japanese campaign setting within a castle. First campaign: Find and destroy ancient relic to stop the castle being haunted by evil kami and Oni. Second campaign: As a shinobi (aka ninja), find and assassinate an evil shogun in his castle while being defended by samurai. This would be potential be a way to re-use Samurai, Ninja, Oni etc minis from various existing games.
This is such a great idea.. Definitely checking this one out. Quick setup 1 hr solo minis skirmish adventure? Yes please. So much room here for various locales.. Malev is on to something
Damn this sounds exciting. I do ever go out and preorder anything but I went purchased the Black Site Terrain and I am getting stuck into the playtesting. For me, as I am so busy my gaming time is really limited, this is perfect because I can setup, play a room or two, go away back to real life and then come back and play some more in small chunks. And, like many, I have so many existing miniatures I do not want anymore so this is perfect. I hope this concept picks up and we get a book of the micro game from different authors offering different themes in the style of Blast! but miniature and game agnostic. Just add miniatures and go. I hope someone works with BattleSystems and they have cardboard terrain that works with the microgames to make for a super affordable way to play in a very small space.
honestly as a wargamer stationed on a submarine this makes me super excited! I this game looks small enough that I can keep in my bed, play it, and quickly shove it off to the side when we have to run a drill or fight a fire. I wish I could've gone to adepticon to get access to these alpha rules to try out but I'll be first in line to get this when its available!
That's a really cool concept. It sounds like there's an unexpected variety of runs possible too. While you were listing styles I was thinking Event Horizon really loud.
When I was running larps, we would have an "elevator mechanic" when running multiple room modules in a one room space. Pile all the players into one closet while the NPCS do a quick scene change.
I wasn't sure I completely understood the idea until I saw the pre-order terrain available. Looks super cool and Pulse positive feedback loop mechanism sounds brilliant.
Oh this looks great! Looking forward to seeing a game of this play out. I'm sure there'll be a ton of fun different genre versions to follow as well - what a cool concept!
Super cool! I had the same thought - microgames have so much potential to crack the hobby wide open for people that don't have the time and space to build and play bigger games. Can't wait to play Demon Ship. 😈
Dead Space version would be cool. Aliens... My first thought was a Ghost Recon/Rainbow Six clear-the-building style game. It works for a lot of themes. Could also be a dungeon vs a room or even an outdoor compound area. Hmm...
I've been looking for a cool ruleset to help me print / paint / play with all these Space Hell sculpts I'm sitting on (mostly Loot Studios but AVG has been crushing the genre now too), and this looks like a fun, lightweight answer. Would also give me an excuse to make a modular board to go with - inevitably with magnets but what about lights and fog and sound and ....
Dead Space theme would be pretty dope. I can see where this has a ton of potential, a Resident Evil theme for modern era miniatures would probably work well.
Not sure if it would translate as well, but I wanted to do a Demon Trench version where it's got just trench walls and such instead of ship pieces. I have some "Magic WW2" themed minis and I feel like it'd be pretty sick.
This style of game is ideal for star trek nerds. You could make all the iconic rooms and relive old episodes full of danger - red shirts - and Kirk having sex with things. I’m in
That sounds really interesting and…very important for me…compact! I think I’ll get it. I’m tempted to buy the terrain set as well, but I know that even if I did buy it, I’d be tempted to make my own set as well.
I have to mechanic questions about this game. If you roll 1s and the sword demons aren’t close enough do they not get to attack? Also if I kill all the demons in a single room do I get to freely move around the room and get the items without threat of attack

Are there going to be expansions or anything additional?

had a fantastic look at the game and a quick demo, was so nice to see him there and yourself
I really like the concept of this, the compact configurable board concept. Dungeon delve sorts feel going room to room. Very old school Doom.
Good timing! Just reading the rules working on a dashboard ideas...

Need this in my life! Can not wait to get my hands on it. Awesome review.

ay, ima just say it's no accident Shinobi is in my name. (way ahead of you here!)
Great minds think alike, obviously.

Great video, thank for sharing the game. Will you be doing a playthrought video?
Malev, roll d6, 1^ and you do something noone else has. Congrats!

I’ll be buying this game when it comes out

I presume this all comes pre-assembled, and you intoned it all fits in one box. which is brilliant. Love the modularity of it.
Hi, the pre-order is live now! but, it doesn't come pre-assembled. You still gotta build the kit. It does come prepainted tho!

This idea sounds amazing! I'd love a fantasy version!

Got my pre order in for the demon ship.
Ghost Boat for life

This sounds like a great system; simple, but thematic. Power-up Soda is a very fun, fps style idea.
#oga include!
LOVE ME SOME MALEV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is F...n brilliant
I'd love such a small "travel" games with miniatures for 2 players
Give us gameplay! :D
Hey ya'll! Allow me to comment on this video to say, DEMON SHIP HAS LAUNCHED! Click that link in the bio!!
So it’s like the old record case games form either SPI or Avalon Hill. Sounds fin

OMG! This sounds rad!
The prototype modular room Blacksite made looks super cool, too.
@@breakerpressgames I've got to go look that up
“You can play this anywhere…” just not on a ship.
You know....we could probably do this in a "Vault" by next week....
....or my awesome wife will order me a small modular spaceship interior that I'll have in time to paint for next week...one of the two
I love that idea!!!
@@GuerrillaMiniatureGames when I see you Tuesday we'll sort it out for the week after!
keep me in the loop!
Ghost Boat.
