I'd love to talk to Tom for a day or two. It's incredibly interesting how my ideas on how to "take the power back" and his have diverged in the last 20 years & I'd bet dollars to doughnuts it's because of where we've been & what we've seen. You can travel the world & still have completely different opinions about the solutions to the problems we face simply due to the the environments we live in in those places. It's one thing to visit the poor and another to live with them. Not that I know exactly how he's lived all these years but I can make a decent general estimate. Before worrying about all the rest, education, the environment, planned parenthood etc., people need to eat. After they have food in their stomach & clean water they can start to work on the rest. Maybe he knows enough not to bother talking about the rest in a poor country but I won't know that till I talk to him. Seems like a good guy though.
