That is a d100, not a Powerwagon. The original Powerwagon's were based off the dodge military 3/4 ton WC truck from WW2. After that style the name was applied to the factory 4wd versions of the regular Dodge pickup truck line. W meaning 4wd, so W100, W200, W300 ect. This is a D100, so 2wd, half ton. Not a Powerwagon. Pretty awesome D100 though, except for being lowered and automatic.
Why go through the hard work and expense to build the toy of your dreams, if you're not going to use it? If you're just gonna look at it, wax it, trailer it to the next car show, and sit there with a smug look on your face that says "Look at all the money I can spend," then go right ahead. Cars and trucks were built to be DRIVEN, those built with lots of power were meant to be driven HARD. That is the reason they have replaceable parts, unlike the toys of our youth.
Cool to see another Sweptline in Sweden! Always been wondering why they are so rare over there considering all the other cool old American iron everywhere.
Nice. How do you film so steadily? Do you have some kind of tripod? I wanna film my dodge d150 but can't seem to get it to be a smooth shot when being filmed from another moving vehicle.
ur right..as far as the plugs going into the valve covers, muscle car era engines, as far as I know, all hemis were set up that way..like you said the ford flatheads and a lot of newer engines, like Hondas have the plugs going into the valve covers...dam ive never even heard of a lot of those ci hemis (not a fan of the 50s cars, although I do have a soft spot for those tri 5 bel airs and 51 mercs).
I have a picture from 1964-5 of a Dodge pickup truck at the drag strip with a 426 Hemi (racing version at the time) dropped in the sucker kicking the pants out of a Ford Thunderbolt. It was a shop truck, I have loved them ever since I saw it.
Richard on fast and loud couldn't come close to this. Anybody see the episode with the dodge pickup with a ford clip and chevy motor? Awesome to see somebody stick with mopar power.
@farmsled He switched to the aluminum nosed max wedges in 64-65. In fact if you watch interviews with the older guys many of them switched from Ford to Mopar during then because Ford continued to try and make it work instead of making a smaller car. They eventually did in 65-66? With the Fairlane? But by then the Hemi came out and the racers like Dick Landy, Mr Norm, Gene Snow and thousand others put them into drag cars and started going hard.
Where was this filmed? Background doesn't look like U.S., nice to see our overseas friends showing some love to the old American Iron... beautiful truck, man.
@ckelley63 I can do that with my 300cid six equipped F150 too. It won't sit in one place and smoke the tires though, it still moves forward, as does your falcon. You must brakestand if you want it to sit in ONE place and smoke the tires, otherwise it WILL move forward.
very nice video....you could show inside the car,,,you turn the sterring for a side and another...hahaha, we have a Dodge D100 also here in Brazil, but only the engine 318,,very nice burn out GO,,,,GO.. regards Alex
If I hit the throttle like that in mine on dry pavement, I could see nothing but sky. Worked the suspension over a bit and moved the motor back about a foot too.
Damn!!! I hope he has new tires in the garage!!! MAYBE 3 SETS OF THEM!! That 440 can go too. Nice truck though (just dont like that style, equivalent to a 63 Plymouth Valiant).
@farmsled Actually I have a photo of it so not hard to imagine. Especially when the shop truck was owned by those that built some FED. And the Thunderbolts while fast where a dissapointment because of there weight and size racing against much smaller and faster aluminum nosed Max Wedge's and the new Hemi in the 64-65 Belvedere/Fury
@Boredout454 I doubt that!! To see a 3200lb 500+ hp 11sec. factory race car get whooped up on by 5000+lb truck shop truck is hard to imagine. Chrysler had some very sick cars back than and was never an easy task to take out a Thunderbolt.
I love comments like these on TH-cam! Doesn't leave much hope for the planet though. But they are hilarious. Yes a burn-out is a pointless waist and polution. But it's fun. Same thing with camp-fires. Nobody blame them. Anyway, if the truck is heavy enough and the tires and the surface i slippery enough, and the engine have enough torque it should be possible to make it hold still, and still burn up the tires. But mostly it will move forward. After all that is what it is designed to do!
Love the truck, never would put a Ram decal on it though. These vehicles pre-date the Ram era . This is a real Powerwagon not a dime a dozen Ram ...
that only became the Ram Truck logo around 2011, before that it was just the Dodge logo
I got dodge ram hood ornaments from 1930s . Its all good
Yes they are

i'm absolutely in love with the 440 sound.
Man i love the sound of a Dodge V8, they still sound this way.
Louco hein, o ronco do motor é um show, e a força da caminhonete é demais...
*Some tires may have been harmed in the making of this film.*
Super nice truck. I owned a 1970 D100 stepside when I was younger, though no nearly as bad ass as this truck!
Love D100s. Nice burnouts👍

The beginning be like ohh I see you have finally woke up

Sweet!
This video makes those 4 sets of tires ooo so worth it.
Burnouts are a proof of torque, and fun.
Richard on fast and loud couldn't come close to this. Anybody see the episode with the dodge pickup with a ford clip and chevy motor? Awesome to see somebody stick with mopar power.
i love it when ppl drive dodges like a dodge :D

Tire companies love this guy!
Where was this filmed? Background doesn't look like U.S., nice to see our overseas friends showing some love to the old American Iron... beautiful truck, man.
beautiful sweptline D100

not a dodge fun but I love the video. I love old trucks but man that thing sounds horrible what mufflers do you have in it?
At 1:30 I can hear the tires screaming: "oh! please stop! God!, stop that, it hurts! argh! stooopp!! ahhh!!"
very nice video....you could show inside the car,,,you turn the sterring for a side and another...hahaha, we have a Dodge D100 also here in Brazil, but only the engine 318,,very nice burn out GO,,,,GO..
regards
Alex
its nice to dispose old tires the right way.

@aleangelo got the samehere in Texas 1970 d100 custom 318 runs pretty good for a 40 year old truck
this is the type of shit us aussies love seeing :)
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
If I hit the throttle like that in mine on dry pavement, I could see nothing but sky. Worked the suspension over a bit and moved the motor back about a foot too.

Take that thing away from this guy! Haha
Cool truck!!

Badass truck
now you gotta peel all that rubber off that gorgeous paint
i love watching this video.
How many tires did you go through to make this video!!! Completely worth it in my humble opinion
Damn!!! I hope he has new tires in the garage!!! MAYBE 3 SETS OF THEM!! That 440 can go too. Nice truck though (just dont like that style, equivalent to a 63 Plymouth Valiant).
show de bola
I would rather be doing smokey sideways burnouts like this guy than in some night club with bad music and fist pump'n.
440's rock MOPAR ROCKS
Sick truck what year is it
Sick truck, no diss here but it sounds like a lawnmower lol
@farmsled Actually I have a photo of it so not hard to imagine. Especially when the shop truck was owned by those that built some FED. 83 democrats are very concerned about your carbon footprint !
NICE
I was going to ask why you jacked the front up in the air but then I realized the rear tires where all left on the road, nice ride
very unique video
That is how we roll in sweden! Dodgestyle!
did you ever find the power steering set up you were looking for. I just took a setup off of a 1970 d 200
Legal muito bom...!!! good... Brasil...
somehow I got the impression that you hate your tires.very nice.
idc what anyone says man those old dodge bodies look better than the chevy c 10s for real, mopar forever
Needs to buy rear tires like every weekend I bet!
@Boredout454 I doubt that!! To see a 3200lb 500+ hp 11sec. factory race car get whooped up on by 5000+lb truck shop truck is hard to imagine. Chrysler had some very sick cars back than and was never an easy task to take out a Thunderbolt.
