    Im disappointed the epic b-roll didn’t have you skipping around with that epic music. Great video which I agree. We are a product of our inspirations and teachers. It’s just an efficient way to learn faster and then experiment what works for you.

      The shots at 9:03 were spectacular btw!

      Ah I missed an oppertunity there, thats for sure. When I added the music I thought to myself this music make me look like I should be running or at least moving faster than I was.

    Great video, shot at 8:56 was my fav, nicely balanced. I found the traffic on the road a distraction, only 1 van in this shot (I would personally remove that in post), but defo my fav shot.

      Thanks Richard, I like that shot too, for me it was a choice between that one and the low down shot. I did consider taking the traffic out in post and tidying up the background a little but in the end I was undecided if it added to the image or not so I left it.
      Good to know thanks 🙏🏼

    Keith, Thank you this little video. I agree that we as photographer's should watch other photographer's videos. But treat them as learning tools. Such as you have done with this one.

      Thanks Jeffrey, best way to learn, not point starting from the beginning when someone has done the work many times before

    Thanks so much for promoting my channel Keith, remind me to slip you the £5 bribe when you come to Kent for some Photography!! 🤣🤣
    Agree with you though, I've talked a lot about finding sources of Inspiration a lot within my videos this year, and using other Photographers, and their work is a great source. I watched your video recently at Durdle Door, and was a great aid, helping me to visual the area when I eventually get there, I love to replicate James Popsys' and the way he uses man made elements in his work for example.
    Awesome video this week mate, great Images as well

      No problem mate, credit where credit is due, finding compositions can be difficult sometimes so having the bonus of another photographer finding it for you sometimes takes the stress out of it, I hadn’t thought of using the videos as a location scout. I’ll include that in part 2 lol. Um £5 I thought we agreed on £10!

      Hi Shawn, thanks mate, I was trying to figure out why I liked that music so much when I picked it, now I know lol.

    Higher up the hill, it looked like there was a great composition shooting across the hedgerow toward that tree, using a longer lens. It would still get the yellow of the rapeseed (we call it canola here) and the curve of hedgerow leads your eye across and into the image.
    One thing that really irritates me in a lot of photography groups is when someone asks for the settings used for a particular image. If you use the exact settings someone else used, not only are you going to get something that doesn't look right if the conditions are different on the day, but you're not going to learn anything. It's better to get out and experiment and find out what works. Maybe try to analyse how your favourite photographer has created a particular image.
    Great video by the way.

      I hadn't considered that option, I might revisit while they are still there and have a look thanks. Totally agree, you can't learn settings unless it is for something under controlled conditions, or using a flash. You might get in the ballpark but ultimately it comes down to practice and trial and error. Thanks for commenting much appreciated.

    Good video. I prefer the images with the tree on the left. Provides balance without being a distraction.
    Years ag my wife and I took a trip to Marta's Vineyard and Nantucket. I had a book of Alfred Eisenstaedt's photos from Martha's Vineyard. I duplicated most of his photos from that book. It was extremely educational. I was relatively new to photography, and that experience taught me how to look at my surroundings to find a good composition as well as try different settings to not only match his images, but also learn the effect of each change on the image. I then of course took my own original photos of different locations applying what I had learned. Great experience!

      Thank you, that’s intriguing, I’m always curious about what other people think, books are great for learning, for technical stuff, I prefer the trial and error approach myself, then I will look something up if I can’t do it. Inspiration on the other hand I get a lot from books.

    Hi Keith hope you're well, Nothing wrong with some B roll and your's is definitly epic. Agree with you on this one, copying or at least trying to emulate other photographers images is a good way to learn and inspiring you into maybe trying something different, as it did you. I liked the very first image where the motorway ? and the rapseed came together, countryside and urban living together. I much perfer the image without the person, but that just me, overall a great set of images.
    Best wishes stay safe Jon & Karen.

      Hi Jon, hope you are both well. Thanks for the kind comment, I do love B-roll lol. I wasn’t overly struck on the ones with the people in. The one with the tree is growing on me though.

    Hi Keith, great video mate, loved the lower shot as it hid the road.....superb, one thing though, where on earth did you find that field of yellow poppies.... Yellow is my most favourite colour...lol 😂

      @keithguppy  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks Colin. Do you not get yellow poppy’s where you are mate. Quite common here 😂

    Very nice video and photographs Keith. Watching other photographers doesn’t help me with ideas or inspiration at all, nobody is photographing iguanas and alligators🤣

    I prefer the one with the tree, no traffic

    • @keithguppy
      @keithguppy  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Agreed, I should have cloned the traffic out of the other photos to be honest, but I wasn’t sure if it added to the shot or not. I think the general consensus is no traffic. Thanks for commenting 👍🏻

    you defo need the tree, without it you have no focal point to rest t5he eyes on

    • @keithguppy
      @keithguppy  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cheers Paul, I wish I had thought of that, I would have come into the field and brought the tree into the frame a little more. Every days a learning day lol, Thanks for commenting much appreciated
