Beverlee McKinsey was the epitome of glamor, sophistication, and class on daytime TV, as Iris on Another World and Texas, and as Alexandra on Guiding LIght. I enjoyed the party sequences in this episode.
This was a great era in GL history. Its a shame that Pam Long was already getting rid of so many great characters that the Dobsons and the late Douglas Marland had created. The biggest blow that GL took was Pam killing off and writing out most of the Bauer clan.
I think Pam Long and Gail Kobe came in with marching orders from Procter & Gamble and CBS to create more youthful stories because of the ratings explosion with the teen love stories on ABC. And the changes to the Bauers were unfortunate in happening so close together. The only one that was deliberate was killing off Hillary as part of the cottage mystery story. The actor playing Ed wanted to leave and the network, actors, and creatives could not come to terms on story and contracts for Mike and Hope, so they left as well. Long said in an extensive interview around the time GL was ending that she never planned for the Bauers to be reduced like that, it just happened.
I’m so grateful that you’ve downloaded these episodes for CBS soap fans like me! I wish so bad the network would release all these to us the fans. At least from 1971-2000;). I grew up on Y&R, As the a world turns and Guiding Light. Especially these from the golden age of soaps! Please keep them coming if possible!! I’m a huge fan and seek out as many as I can get my eyes on;). Thank you so much
There were some stand out actresses on GL . And Beverly McKinsey was one of the best. Sophia Geier as Diane Ballard was the best villian ever although Sonni, Michele Forbes was awesome as well. I see Michele Forbes every couple years on something. A huge underrated actress who played Lyle and Billy’s mother was Sally played by Patricia Barry. Maeve Kinkead as Vanessa was a long standing character. Loved Gl in the early 80’s thru the late 80’s until it became the Reva show. I just never understood why she became the center of the show from the late 80’s till the show ended. Maureen Garrett and Susan Pratt as Holly and Claire were great too.

Sad that so many of the wonderful actors in this episode are no longer living.
Beth and LuJack were AWESOME together
I really love this episode because of the funny scenes with Billy Vanessa and Mindy and Reva slapping each other in the face. This is just so funny.
the acting on this soap was so good in the 80s
I always liked Quint’s character 😊
Annabelle Sims Reardon is really losing it she's putting her house before her new husband Tony.
She was always weird
Perfect for that story line. Loved her role prior to GL when she played geologist Brett Wheeler on Texas.

I hated Billy with a passion in this year. I'm so glad he cooled off and became the lovable, cheerful, loyal Billy I grew to adore

CBS doesn't own ATWT, GL, or B&B, so it's not up to the network to release episodes for re-airing.
@@sedrickgilbert7682 your right. It’s Viacom, isn’t it?
@@jupitermarx Proctor & Gamble owns the rights to ATWT and GL. The Bell family owns B&B.
Ross just got better looking every year.
A very handsome man, yes
I didn't realize Joseph the butler was on this early.
Beverlee McKinsey was beautiful and sexy from Another World&The Guiding Light.Enjoyed her acting sorry she passed.
Love the intro
@BruhTV Me too! :-)
Damn the was aces back then. I miss it so much.
What happened to the next episode? Why is blocked suddenly?
What was up with the final scene where Fletcher, Hillary, Jim, Tony, and Annabelle are just staring at the fire?
Was Maeve Kinkead pregnant in real life when Vanessa was pregnant with Bill?
yeah the next ep is blocked :(
