Back in the late 80's I worked as an electrician and crane operator. I would work with heights from 25' to the tallest was a flagpole that we changed out a gear on that was 198' now I have trouble with a 10' stepladder. I liked the quote "one and only time I will do that" Great job as always Ken!! Hope the weather cools down some before the meetup.

12-14 hours travel time by car from San Antonio Texas. A bit too far for me this year unfortunately.
But thanks for going through all that trouble to give us the tour. Maybe I can put it on my calendar for next year.

What the hell is going on at this place. I thought it was a prison at 1st and then it began to look like a junk yard for metal objects. How did this guy get his own water tower. How was it moved there or did he build it? I’ve been trying to build a 1926 style water tower for years. I want my own water tower in my back yard because no one else really does. And the old ones look neat. !!!

Hey Ken....have you done time before?? I noticed the "heart with bars" tattoo and that's usually what that means. Lol...just curious. I did ten years myself. Flying my quad is an awesome release and a great hobby that gets me outside and connect with nature. I love it !!

Does the Mini not have a magnetic compass? I tried taking off from a metal bridge, and my Mavic Pro flew nuts! I blamed it on all the metal. But you didn't seem to have any issues taking off from an obviously large piece of metal.
It hates metal, but if you ignore the request to calibrate, you can usually take off anyway 👍

Wow, when I saw you on the top of the tower at the beginning, I thought it was some sort of visual effect. I got to give you your due, I would have never climbed up there. But awesome views from up there, and most usual location I have ever seen to take a drone off from. Great video, you always surprise us.

True Story. Back in the late 80s or early 90s a diver was in a big public water tank on a hill. He was inspecting it or working on it, I can't remember exactly, and the pump turned on and killed him. It ripped him in half. This was in Jackson, MS. I was in school at the time either High School or just starting College when this happened. I kept thinking what a horrible way to die. It made the news which is how I heard about it.

Wouldn’t most water towers or tanks up on a hill only have pumps to fill them? I thought the whole point of a tower or hilltop location was because you only need pump to fill em, gravity buys you water pressure for the emptying.
@@JamesReedy Yes you are correct. This tank was on a tall hill. I don't know all the aspects of how it all works but I do know it uses gravity as you said. I suppose they can reverse the pump and that seems to be what happened in this case.
@@ecleveland1 what a way to go. Reminds me of how John Edward’s became a prominent attorney. He sued some company over the design of an intake for a spa pump. Some little girl sat in it when it was running and it sucked her intestines out thru her anus. She survived it but lost basically all of her bowel so she has to eat intravenously I believe. IIRC that incident lead to redesigned drains that draw from the sides with lower pressure ratios. Same for pools the old ones could trap you on the bottom. Current codes require a bypass inlet I believe on top of the pressure limiting cover.

Yes, but you should register the drone anyway.
@@Quickcat21MK ken usually encourages safe and responsible drone use (when he's not being funny)...hell, he even gets me to file FAA waivers to fly at bandos near an airport.
