    Had a brain scan today. The headphones really muffle the sounds and it wasn't as loud as I expected, thankfully. I was nervous and scared, but it was honestly pretty relaxing. The worst part was the silence between the noises, since you didn't know what noise to expect next. At the end, I was excited to hear the new noise and I didn't realize that I was done with the scan.

      @@kioku119let me tell you a story about how and why I got an MRI. So at my school it was lunch time and we where playing basketball 🏀 together with my school mates and the best player on the other team was dribbling and I was right beside him trying to get the ball off him and he saw me and he stoped really fast and I kept going forward and when I tried to stop my right ankle on the outside not the inside part. I rolled so hard that I couldn’t even put pressure on it. I went to one Physio but they were not good but then my mum remembered an old friend who works at a physio. They had the best chance of getting it better. After a few times of going there the physio said I think he needs an MRI because my ankle was not getting better I went to get the MRI done and when I hoped into the machine I was feeling fine until I wanted to ask a question because I started feeling anxious 😬 when I started talking to him I started to tear up. I got so scared the rest of the time I was in there but after I was finished they said if you ever come back for another MRI there’s nothing to worry about and I felt so relieved that, that was over. They said I had 2 cysts in my ankle but they where tiny so I didn’t have to get surgery and till this day I’m doing foot and ankle exercises that the physio has sent us to do. Hope you enjoyed my story about how I sprained my ankle 😊

    • @daktarioskarvannederhosen2568
      @daktarioskarvannederhosen2568 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      as i understand it, the only sounds that are caused by mechanical movement are
      the continuous chirping or breathing sound, in the background, of the cooling system working to keep the magnets cool,
      and
      the magnet coil occasionally slapping the casing of the donut
      ...the vast lion's share of the sounds are entirely due to electrical stimulation of the magnets and the unavoidable (and required) sounds that such stimulation causes.

    • @SimplySarah93
      @SimplySarah93 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      It’s an electromagnet. The mri sends magnetic pulses through your body and causes the hydrogen atoms in your body to spin and in turn reads the signal it gives off and is able to put those signals together to form an image. Hydrogen is magnetic. The magnets are suspended in liquid helium and when they produce an image they spin around in the tube

      I found my small bowel + abdomen MRI relaxing! However you lie on your tummy with your head almost poking out the tube so it doesn't feel so claustrophobic, compared to e.g. brain MRI ❤

    I would really like to know where this constant and cyclical noise comes from, which comes from the machine all the time... even when the coils are not working... this noise sounds like a bellows opening and closing all the time. Its a pump or something like that?

    • @MRIPETCTSupportEngineer
      @MRIPETCTSupportEngineer  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You're absolutely correct! That's the cryogen pump assembly (coldhead and compressor) making the cyclical noise. You can find additional information about the MRI scan sounds here: (What Makes The Different MRI Scan Sounds) th-cam.com/video/5i7-6E2X5Zk/w-d-xo.html

    Had my second MRI scan today. The thing is, I am quite the bloody hell obese. So the tube was pretty narrow. It was loud, even through the protective headphones. I did have an abdominal scan five years ago (today's was a pelvic one), but today I felt closer to some panic attack being wrapped tightly in the tube. I was given a panic button, thank God I didn't have to use it. I started praying the Holy Rosary. It took the first decade for me to calm down and my breath frequency slow down to normal, but after that I was quite fine. Only my lower back was a bit p*ssed at the end. Now I am waiting for the results and hoping I don't have cancer...

    Why is it that the retractable bed isn't in during self-calibration? Or is it in actual life and this is a still background photo? I mean, I'd assume during calibration you'd want the response from the bed, however small, to come out exactly as it does during the subsequent diagnostic run.
