I'd add, chose a weight that maximizes mechanical tension. Meaning, once I lowered the weight, focused on the stretch, mechanical tension in the negative, going to failure or 1RIR my hard gaining arms started making progress. I train arms and lateral delts twice a week with 2-3 days rest in between.
Personal opinion: I watch a lot of the videos on this channel ( I am Subscribed). The focus is on body building. Body building exercises do improve both strength and endurance but are optimized to increasing muscle size. Like you I am also interested in strength and endurance training as well and have been gravitating to kettle bell training for this. Several really good kettle bell channels on TH-cam now, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding some good workout routines if you want to give them a try. Thanks.
I do full body compound lifting 3 times a week, after doing bent over row's with an ez bar and an over hand grip, I super set to ez bar curls and go to failure for 5 sets.... Blew my arms up, the bent over rows get them going and gassed out a bit, then BOOM! 💪🏻🤪
One thing you could do is get yourself a set of rings and hook them onto a pull-up bar. Then lean back. Curl with your body weight. Lean back further for more resistance. It's what gymnast do
