Thank you for this video. After a few years with my mac keyboard hide in the closet I clean the keyboard and look brand new and the space now is a lot more clean.
Ok that worked out fabulously! My keyboard looks brand new! Thanks for posting!
awesome tip. My keyboard was nasty and dirty and it's immaculately clean now. Thx!
It worked perfectly. Like new!
Awesome! Feels so much better typing on a clean keyboard for some reason.
Thanks. Will try this soon.
Is it possible to clean the alcohol without removing the lettering if it is printed with a laser?
Why not use 91% isopropyl alcohol? Less water and dries faster and more thoroughly. And what about gunk that's stuck under the keys? Waiting for part II ...
@@weekendhomeprojects I've never seen that on the shelves. 91% is at every CVS and Walgreen's in the US. Yes, I know you were trying to be snarky.
@@Flavum I think any mix of alcohol will be good. The higher the % the quicker it'll dry.
I picked up a spare A1243 wired keyboard at a thrift store, but it has ink on some keys. Has anyone found a cleaner for ink? Apple Store suggested maybe nail polish remover, but I haven't dared to try that yet.
Did you ever figure it out? I would think nail polish remover too. But that may take off some of the letter on the key I'd think.
@@weekendhomeprojects Good news: Nail polish remover didn't damage the keys.
Bad news: Nail polish remover didn't remove the ink.
I just need new CONTROL, OPTION, COMMAND and space bar. Previous owner wrote Boot Camp equivalents on them. Otherwise, keyboard works fine.
I spilled juice so the keys are sticky and I have to dumb water on it every day to get back to normal
Ouch, yeah, that's a bit more involved than everyday dirt and grime. Hope you get it back to 100%.
@@weekendhomeprojects when I put the keys back it doesn’t come to the original like some look awkward
