Great result mate, look like you took your own advice! Good on you for walking down the pitch and making it happen, even though you were still scratching around a bit. No doubt the mental shackles will come off when the pitches harden up a touch and the commute is a bit shorter. All the best and waiting eagerly for the next one mate!
Really nice to see some fluency and flow in the innings bud. Been watching from down in jersey for a while. 😊 the wife says “how can you watch this?” 😂 well this innings was the reason why 😊
Well done on finding some well deserved form Good win for Marshfield Congrats to Callum on his brilliant 98 (98) Hopefully we see you get your own TON soon
Really well batted, i wanted to show a token of my appreciation for helping me get my love back for cricket, i scored my maiden half century today in tier 1 a the highest leauge in surrey so thank you
Love the fact your now local, I live and play about 20 mins from Marshfield, I used to play for Trowbridge CC, we have a 6-a-side tournament next Sunday at our local club in Southwick if you are about 😂
I thought my commute of 35-40 minutes was a long one. Devon to Wiltshire is some trek! I play in the Cornish league, I doubt the standard is as good as this but it sure is an interesting league and a different style of cricket.
Great game to watch. Having watched how you played at woodhall all i would suggest is you don't get tunnel vision about having to hit big to make a telling contribution. This team has some big hitters around you so just keep feeding them the strike and put away the bad ball when you can. I could imagine it can sometimes feel a little bit pressured seeing someone come straight in and hit sixes from the get go. Stick with your style and make it work for the team :)
I have watched a few of your videos and you seem to be a little less comfortable against spin. I had the same problem many years ago. I bribed two spin bowlers (with beer and pizzas) to bowl at me for a couple of hours and it really helped. I also worked hard on my sweep and late cut. I hope this helps you. Please keep making the videos they are great.

Keep working Gareth. A few extra runs off the legs or hip was the only reason this wasn’t a run a ball innings. Keep jumping on the short and the full stuff, you’ll be right.
I agree, but the defensive play against spinners is probably the biggest reason. Its easier to get those singles and less chance of dropping the wicket. I'm sure he's scared of nicking it against the fastest bowlers hence why he doesn't play of the hips much
Try taking a bigger first step against spinners. You will be able to make more runs by whacking them over mid-on/mid-off more often forcing them to alter their length and come shorter at you which you seem to prefer. Currently you are scoring mostly off the back foot especially early in your innings…you won’t get too much pace on the ball off the back foot
I love these videos amd I look forward to them every week. They make me a better cricketer. I went from averaging 13 and being a poor batsmen to currently averaging 57. I am getting more chances in my team and my temperament has improved. Thank you very much amd keep making these videos because when you score runs do I
Just an advice mate i think you need to focus on your legside shots. Especially the flick. I've been watching a lot of your videos off late and I absolutely love the experience but i repeatedly see you struggling to make contact with the balls that go down the leg i don't know if it's just my assumption but if you'd perfect that it'd be great.
love the content as always but IMHO you have the temperament of a test player vs a limited overs player. Hope you don't take offense to that comment. #grinditout
It's good to see you getting some runs. I've been shat on in the past by some people for calling you out for taking far too long to get going. I just feel that you will play better by being more aggressive. That seems to be your nature. In the past videos it felt like you were just hanging around because you have the GoPro and need content? There's holding an end and there's holding up an end. Anyway; once again, good to see you in the runs.
You are such a slow starter mate. You cant be taking 15-20 balls to get set all the time. Dont get me wrong, if the bowler just bowls straight wkt to wkt, you do not have any have scoring options. You have a great cut shot from all the videos i have seen. Need to work on those singles with wrist work and little positive intent in the middle. Too slow 90% of the times.
@@oilau3086on what looks to be a good batting track, quick outfield and a smallish ground, he is scoring a little slowly I’m afraid. You only need to look at some of the scores on this ground vs his strike rate to see that
@@SportisGOAT Agreed. Can get big runs if set and catch up in terms of SR later. Not sure about the level of competition he plays at, but anyway you look at it, he starts way too slow and doesn't have any shots rather than singles and cut shot for the initial 30-40 balls. Just a constructive feedback, closely matched teams or down the tournament, he won't get away with it. If it's fun cricket with no promotions/relegations, I have no problem. Cricket is fun

Good innings Gareth, a nice stepping stone to kick on for this season. Jeremy must be a nightmare to bowl against
Thanks Nick. Yes he is! Watch this space...
That was a great show of batting with 15 6’s and a lot of 4’s. Keep the great content coming 👍

7 sixes from the openers and the first 3 on the pull are very nice
Getting caught at short mid wicket and short extra cover is always a bummer😤 Just bad luck to pick out that one man. Runs will come back soon.
Good innings Gareth and great win. What made you move to Devon from Lincolnshire? I hope you're enjoying it there.
Thanks! Wanted to be closer to family 👍

Great stuff gareth
Marshfield seems to have a lot of good batters. Consistently making good scores.👌🏾
Yes we bat deep!
what does that stone wall on the boundary do to the ball when it gets hit....ouch
You should get filming sunglasses so that you can do a fielding pov as well
Great idea 💯
Are you going to post the one against bramley , i took a photo with you at westfield cricket ground and wanted to know if you had filmed it

14:58 was a 6 not a 4
Gave your wicket too easily Gareth, great video as always🔥
Thanks 🙏
