- We FINALLY stay in LONGREACH and we enjoy one of the BEST AUSSIE OUTBACK TOURS!
We've travelled through Longreach in Outback Queensland so many times over the last 5 years and have never stopped and stayed. This time we're staying and playing to experience one of Longreach's best experiences, the Silver Tails Sunset Rail, & Dinner and Show with Smithy's Aussie Outback Tours.
We had a brilliant time riding the rails on the 2000 class heritage rail motor car, enjoyed drinks and canapés on board, and watched the outback sunset over the floodplains. Then we were off to the Outback Dinner and Show, enjoying a delicious 2 course meal cooked over the campfire, and wonderful entertainment by Drew Blundel. A fantastic night and a definite highlight of our time in Longreach.
Then it's off to the Wellshot Pub in Ilfracombe where Jasper steps up and impresses everyone in the pub, scoring himself a free drink and a good boost of confidence!

Hi Paul Katie and Jasper. We have been following you since the 1st episode. Your editing skills are excellent and you have inspired us to travel ourselves. We are currently in Mackay and have been travelling for the last 5 months homeschooling our 13 year old son. Keep up the excellent videos as we look forward to them every week.

Heading to Longreach next September - loved watching the train experience. Definitely something I would be keen to do.

I went to high school on a steam train which was replaced by Jasper’s Silver Bullet which I am dismayed to hear described as ‘heritage’.😢 I think we called them rail motors. We also did what I think is the same show presentation including a bush poet. I cannot remember exactly but a lot of those experiences at that time were run by the Kinnon (?) family? Strangely both times we were there the river boat tours were cancelled due to floods.
