I'm used to 30-40lb braid for a regular baitacaster, its great and love the sensitivity. For bfs though, I tried fluoro and have been converted too, it flies off the spool and through line guides buttery smooth unlike a braid to leader knot, and having your whole line invisible to the fish is a huge bonus. i do miss the sensitivity of braid but i dont miss when braid digs in so its a few compromises with each line.
Depends a lot on the diameter of the line and the model of the reel. I’ve only had a real issue while using entry level bfs reels ,(even with 5lb)or going sub 3lb with the fc on my normal bfs reels
Thinking of trying fluorocarbon this year after exclusively using braid, what fluorocarbon would you recommend and what breaking strain would be a good all rounder? Thanks
Yo dude, go for something supple and pliable , Sunline is amazing but so is the Major Craft Dangan . It has really good characteristics and is extremely abrasion resistant, i use 3lb for trout and usually 5lb for everything else, I'll use 8lb on my versatile bfs set up though.
New sub, good to see SA guys....TH-cam rarely recommends you to me

To me fc is just as sensitive but in a different way . You can still detect a bite on a slack line with fc , not so much with braid
Good info mate :)
Tomos Edwards thanks man
Do you have a link for the squirly bulldog burt bum lures lol 😂😂
I find that flouro gets jammed in between the spool and the housing of the reel

@@darrenrodd. you’d need to import it or get a hold of a guy on face book called Jon Sykes. He can get one for you
