I always connect the ruby, before inserting the fiber. This way it is easy to see, if the fiber is really inserted properly. Thanks for all the vids btw.
Thank you for sharing!
I don’t think these are made to last long term. The gel inside will eventually dry up. But quick to install a home service install without needing a fusion splicer.
Yeah I’ve heard from a few people that some of them just crap out after a few months, most of them will probably fail long term
Att uses them on there fiber installs
And here I am always breaking out the little AFL FASTConnect measurement card that shows exactly how far to strip and cleave lol How often do you have to do mechanical connectors vs splices? How hard is it to re-terminate if you forget to slide the boot on first?
Over the years I’ve done thousands of both but more often doing splicing than connectors just depends on the work that day. Supper easy to re terminate you can simply just push the plastic locking piece back into the connector to release the fiber and just throw your boot on and use the same fast connect again 🙌
Great video, I've been watching a lot of your video because I'm considering having my business to get contracts with internet companies around my area, can you please tell me what is the best training resources and companies that I can get with to gain a certificate with the best knowledge I can get, thanks in advance.
Honestly there is really not much out there for courses it’s best to just get hands on and find an experienced guy to come in and teach you and your workers. There is for.org but honestly the information is outdated and could be overwhelming/confusing for someone just getting into it. I would suggest watching a lot of my videos, finding a skilled, knowledgeable guy and hire him to consult for you to help with trouble shooting and bidding on jobs🙌 thanks for watching and subscribing I really appreciate it
