I just watched Carol’s video. I just found her on TH-cam and I do get a lot of love notions patterns so I was anxious to see her vest creation. She discussed bias binding and talked about how she was collaborating with you and so I went right over to your channel! I’ve used by a finding or non-biased binding when making quilts and not too much on clothing. You made it sound fun like everything else it’s probably just a matter of doing it a few times.that was a great chip about stitching around the entire perimeter of the vest to keep the batting inside. All in all you both did a great job and your vests are beautiful. Thank you very much.
Brilliant Oakley Vest. Great idea to use Washi tape to hold the pockets in position. I will remember that tip. I am a fan of Love Notions patterns, too, the instructions are excellent and they fit me really well.
Beautiful gilet Agata, nice choice on bias binding, the overall look is great on you. Thank you for your excellent tips making our sew more pleasurable - avoiding possible problems. Happy wearing and sewing 🎉❤
Thank you so much! I used few prequilted fabrics before and decided that it's time to put all I painfully learned in one place. Maybe it will help someone avoid my mistakes
Hello, Agata! Your vest is gorgeous! I love all that binding, it makes the design pop so much! You did an amazing job! Thanks for sharing with us 🥰 Happy Sewing ❤~Tiffany
Thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comments. I absolutely love this vest. I am thinking of getting another prequilted fabric and doing a version with a collar in a very cold colour :)
Your vest is fabulous! I own this pattern but have never tried it, so thank you for your excellent tips and tricks. Since it's fall, I need to give it a try.
I absolutely love your jacket and that binding is amazing on it, it really suits you. It was such a fun collab thanks so much for doing it with me and roll on our next one, no I hadn't forgotten 😊. Funny how our fabric and binding was opposite, my cotton fabric and slippy binding and yours vice versa 😂 Thanks ❤
Hi Agata! I came over to your channel after watching So Carole's vest video. LOVE your vest and matching top! 🥰 Thank you for all the tips and tricks for sewing the vest and specialty fabric. The tip about Wonder Clips leaving marks was surprising and I thank you for your brilliant alternative methods for keeping slick fabrics in place. I'm in the US and tend to sew only Big 4 patterns, so I'm tempted to give Simplicity 1499 a try (similar vest pattern to the Oakley Vest). Yesterday I saw the unboxing of some of the PDAG dresses you sent to Mari. Very pretty. I'm now a subscriber to your channel and can't wait to watch some of your previous makes. Thanks!!! Dori
Awww. Thank you so much, Dori. I was surprised, too, with wonder clips. They left kind of indentation marks. I hope you will enjoy other videos on my channel. Have a wonderful sewing week. Thank you for watching
@theseamstressatthecottage awww thank you. I love watching your videos, too :) I usually do it on big TV, so I rarely comment (it's just a bit awkward to type).
good advice about stitching down all the layers. Good job on the vest/waistcoat....Love it.

Hi Agata! Love your Oakley! I need to find that leopard binding here in the U.S. So many great tips here for this, thank you!
Thanks so much! 😊 if you can't find a binding, it's quite easy to do on your own, and I bet you can find animal print quilting cotton :)

Great vest Agatha! Love it❤ The fabric and binding are fabulous. Did you use a Teflon foot on your machine? You did an amazing job on it, well done!
Thank you so much.
I used normal foot - I actually need to get Teflon foot for my janome :)
