Who in the world would give a negative on this guys video? That’s crazy. The man is doing REAL work, at a very high level, and sharing to help others. I started my floorpans and rockers on mine, and have now discovered I’m going to have to remove fender to remove door to replace rocker stuff. Mine needs inner and outer and cab corners and partial pans. I sure am dreading the rusty 1966 fasteners, but....
Very good video! After 5 yrs, I don't know if you'll see this but as a DIY first timer, "been there, done that" I applode both your repair methodes and video editing. I discovered the hard way, 4 years ago, that your methode of grinding the paint/primer away gave me better welds even when using gas than using the best Weld Trough primer. Did inner/outer rockers on 2001 F350 SupperCab and starting tomorow, left/right outers on 2000 Expedition. Again, excelent video. Good methode and good narative! Russ
My dad owns a 1964 GMC 2 wheel drive truck that he originally bought new for $2200 cnd , that price inc the factory radio . Anyways love watching your videos ... keep em coming : )
Never done body work before, just started watching TH-cam and playing with this welder for about a year and a half ,I'm not no pro still learning as I go
Thank you for the videos. Nicely done! Noticed that you have a Lincoln Electric welder, curious as to what you have your settings set at when welding sheet metals. Thanks.
I was wondering have you used the Eastwood rust Encapsulator by the gallon? I wanted to know the shelf life on it? The stuff is not cheap and me and my buddy were talking about pot 15 witch has no shelf life. Should I just buy it by the riddle can?
Your videos are super helpful, thanks! I am tearing apart my 1966 GMC C10. About to take cab off. I noticed that you did not do any bracing inside the cab before removing and repairing the rockers. Did you have any trouble with the body gaps when putting everything back together? Thanks for your help.
Thanks didn’t really need brace on this when replacing rockers or cab corners, if I would’ve cut out more of the floor I would have braces, I always measure before cutting any panels out,the gabs really looked good after this repair, thanks again man take care
Why don't you use the new "weld through" primer that allows you to weld without grinding to metal? It would ultimately save you time and money it seems. Just asking, not criticizing. You are doing some nice work. Thanks for sharing. George
Great work, question though, some of the shows tell you to stabilize the cab to reduce flex before cutting out the old rockers do you think this needs to be done or depends on the vehicle?
+Gibson63 Ok so can I ask you a question? When you sprayed the underneath of your cab with that black (what was it). How come you decided to spray it with that black instead of paint it the same as entire cab that red color?
+Jer Bear I used the Rock-it-liner on bottom of cab, had a few patch panels that I welded in didn't want to grind them all the way down, this undercoating worked great
You could mark your cut out pieces with a small piece of tape,... Then undercoat,... Then remove tape for a clean weld spot. Less grinding and less materials. ENJOY.

so when you primed your rocker. did you find it necessary to scruff up the black coating from the manufacture?
Yes I scuffed all the black e-coating down before I epoxy after putting this truck together I sanded a few more times re-epoxy then high build
+Gibson63 Ok so can I ask you a question? When you sprayed the underneath of your cab with that black (what was it). How come you decided to spray it with that black instead of paint it the same as entire cab that red color?

trying to find a website to the place you said you get parts from and can't. Been using LMC for mine, looking for other options
I use millsupply.com for all my vehicle panels cheaper then lmc
I don't understand why you didn't get more views.
Do you just put bondo on the seems above the spot welds?
Shane K No I didn't fill over the seam I keep it like the original look with the seam
Thank you, I'm getting ready to replace mine but have never done body work, your video helped.

I order all my sheet metal from classic parts
Hi I'm not a welder. I've heard of using some 3M 08115 Panel Bonding Adhesive instead of welding. Any thoughts on that?
wow well u look like u have been it for years
This was painful to watch. Try a tripod please.
