People are acting like experimental stuff like this is some weird new brand of music unlike anything out there already, but wasn’t a lot of this essentially exactly what Frank Zappa was doing? This is a form of art, albeit abstract, surreal, and absurd, but it still means something. It’s organized and arranged sound which fits the definition of music, no matter how dissonant it is or how unconventional it seems to you. The great thing about a band like this is that they have NO limits. They are free to do whatever they want as long as it sounds good to them and means something. They are also VERY fun to watch live. Take your close-mindedness out of here and acknowledge that this is still a valid form of art.
What proof do you have that this isn’t honest or that they don’t have skill? I’ve actually seen this band live many times and they have quite a substantial following here in the LA music scene. It’s valid regardless of if you personally like it or not.
@@flaxhorizon That’s exactly where you’re wrong though. There was never a conscious decision by them to just copy the other stuff. They wrote stuff based on what they liked and this is what came out of it. If you don’t like it fine but I guarantee you it’s original regardless of how many elements you’ve heard in other music. I’ve seen this band numerous times since 2015 and have been impressed every time. Let them be who they want.
It's new to younger listeners who weren't around for folks like Zappa, or Captain Beefheart. Dissonant music will always irk some people because it doesn't give you predictable verse, chorus, verse formulas, or have pop hooks that suit the masses. And that's fine. Those who play on the edges, and color outside the lines know what they are doing. The first dissonant musician was Igor Stravinsky in 1913 with the premier of his The Rites of Spring in Paris. An avant garde ballet masterpiece, the audience was so disturbed that they literally rioted, attacking each other in uncontrolled madness. An analysis in recent years showed that part of the reaction was that human ears had never heard sounds like what the audience heard, and that their brains couldn't understand that. Critical articles later that year began to thoughtfully write about Stravinsky's music, minds began to change, and the next year it was performed again, and audiences now more educated went wild with praise. I say all that to show this kind of thing goes way back. Dissonance is the bread and butter of modern, and post-modern artists from the Surrealists, Artaud, Panic Theater, Sun Ra, Sonic Youth, to name only a few. It's theater for the senses. Some will love it, some won't.
Very surprising ! Unique ! Atmosphere mixed between The Doors, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Talking Heads, The Beatles and Zappa also maybe. :) That would match perfectly with a movie inspired by 70's, crazyness, terror and murder .. Any realisator around ?
Daytrotter Studios: We’ve never had to say this to anyone before, but we absolutely insist that your lead singer wears clothes for the entire performance. Sloppy Jane: 😟
I like weird if it's good. When it's just random weirdness because they can, ill just hope they are having fun without me watching, cause I can't anymore.

Check out Captain Beefheart

This band legit scares me, entertains me and makes me laugh. Idk how i feel about that...
Truly amazing experimental music, like Beefheart, Velvets, early Zappa but updated to the 21st Century. Love it
Saw them recently.
They made me so uncomfortable with their set and I loved every minute of it! 🖤🥀

their performances are like a bad car crash, you don't want to watch but you can't look away at the same time.

Love every freaky second of this!
OH MY GOD. I'M. IN. LOVE.
Music and performance taken right out of the Zappa play book.
Note: look up the Insaints and Tribe 8. Nothing is new under the sun and they didn't have twitter in the 80's and 90's.
Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention- Patti Smith- B-52's.... But better
brilliant
BEST IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!
potassium 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
I like it, lol.
i am very confused.
Anybody want to go to dennys after this? Or…..
zappa-esque, but fresh. has a nice Girlpooly magic i think marks it as a phenomenon. Cool shit.
Algunas partes se parecen al disco de Berlín de Lou Red
when a cackle of Hyenas started a band 😅
To inhibit the singer in anyway, even wearing clothes, takes away, don't you think?
Oh my.
Sounds like a cult
Love this!
Genius
I concur
Totally agree

Right, Right. But I trust you are not talking about this performance.
I hope it's not millennials...but some later generation!!!
Someone has seriously forced these kids to play music! Lol
Drummer looks like a girl version of Dave grohl
Why?
Lame. Childish. Boring
Are these guys progressive liberals?
This is fkn awful. Not in a cool way either. 😭
This is so fkn cool
Really Real? Yours would seem to be a minority opinion.
