Love this series of quick doodle. More entrainment than cat videos, and material for fast practice. Although, there is so many modeling videos. I can suggest you to make different things. After watching Patrick 4D I start to make 3D food for fun and practice. He uses Zbrush, but you can make it in C4D with volume builder, displacer and other deformers, remesher, little sculpting. Also, there is "medical" illustration, various cells, bacteria, viruses, etc. You can also use polygonal modeling, splines, volume.... and get very decent result. Almost no need for Zbrush. Entire new world to explore. I guess that many people will be interested to see something different.
That you didnt align the normals here in the meantime grinds me more than it propably should. :D Anyways, great tutorial as always. Still a pleasure to watch you doing bools and cleaning it up so nicely.
Question about rotating grid while using "Close Polygon Hole" tool. I seem to be missing rotating function and all other tutorials online are missing it as well. Do you have an addon or different setup?
I am using the latest version of C4D, that is why I have that option, you can do it manually, I have a tutorial on the channel about how to close holes/caps with quad geo, you can check that out.
I repeat your videos in Blender :) I myself have been modeling in Cinema 4D for a long time, but I switched to Blender because of modeling and rendering. I see that in new versions of C4D, the same problem with parasitic vertices after Boolean operations remains, which was in previous versions. Some things are done faster in Blender, some in C4D. For example, there is no copying of edges (Ctrl in Slide mode) in Blender; there is no chamfered graph shape; There is a Patch tool in Blender, but it works extremely unpredictably; There is no tool for uniform distribution of edge loops. But in Blender it is much easier to manipulate the movement/rotation/scaling of elements, a very powerful tool for chamfers and cuts, there are also auxiliary tools for working with edge loops and so on. Apart from modeling and rendering, everything else in Blender is done very badly and is in no way suitable for beginners in modeling.
@@polygonpen I‘ve tried numerous times and fail always where the corrugated part meets the round indent. Tough practice! But your tutorials help a lot!
Thank you so much. These are great modeling practices. Can I offer one small suggestion? Please slow down just a bit to allow us to see what you are doing at times. You go so fast at some points that stopping the video to see what you did is at times challenging. Especially for us new guys that are still learning the UI. You speak so fast at times that it's hard to pick up what you are saying. Just a little bit slower in your delivery would help. Just a suggestion and most definitely not a criticism.
You do the great tutorials but you're a little too fast for us beginners and then, we don't speak English, we speak French so take it easy or make a basic video for us 😊 I used Google translate to write this message

Hi, thanks for the feedback, I agree on most of the things you said, as a beginner it is an overwhelming software for sure but it has great tools.
There is no slide mode in Blender's built-in tools, but this is provided with a small plug-in.

Patch is simply impossible to get right
Yeah, sometimes you may need to add a few polygons to get best results.
