For those who stumble across these videos, a speed run is a video of a person or persons, completing a game as fast as possible using any means possible. This can include glitches, abusing in-game mechanics and skipping items or even playing events out of sequence.
Developed by Crytek and released in September 2008, Crysis: Warhead is an expansion pack for Crysis, and features just as astounding visual imagery and top-of-the-line graphical technology as its predecessor. The plot of the expansion follows Psycho, the Statham-esque member of the Raptor Team (which also includes the protagonist of the original game, Nomad) and takes place in parallel to the events from the first game, on the other side of the island. Crysis Warhead, like the original Crysis, is set in 2020, when an ancient alien spacecraft is uncovered on the fictional Lingshan Islands, east of the Philippines. The single player campaign has the player assume the role of a member of Raptor Team, a squad of mostly American soldiers outfitted with cutting-edge technology. Specifically, they play the role of former British SAS operator Sergeant Michael Sykes, referred to in-game by his call sign, "Psycho". Psycho was a supporting character in Crysis, in which players played one of his Raptor Team squad mates, Jake "Nomad" Dunn. Psycho's arsenal of futuristic weapons builds on those showcased in Crysis, with the introduction of Mini-SMGs which can be dual-wielded, a six-shot grenade launcher equipped with EMP grenades, and the destructive, short ranged Plasma Accumulator Cannon (PAX). The highly versatile Nanosuit, which confers various superhuman abilities upon its wearer, returns. In Crysis Warhead, the player follows a "secret mission" Psycho was sent on roughly halfway through the original game, to retrieve a mysterious cargo container held by the North Koreans, believed to contain a nuclear warhead. During this mission, Psycho fights North Korean and extraterrestrial enemies in many different locations, such as a tropical island jungle, inside an "Ice Sphere", an underground mining complex, and finally, to an airfield. Like Crysis, Warhead uses Microsoft Direct3D for graphics rendering. Why would they implement this? The Game never was designed to speedrun, the radio chatter and such creates atmosphere in the first playthrough and describes the situation your dealing with.
You could open the music.pak file and swap the files with empty ones but that would probably violate the rules.

i ran this game single segment and managed to get slightly under 30 minutes without loads. i was actually trying to see if i can use anything but everything in this run is sceaming segmented. :D

First off just want to say that the run is awesome and I absolutely love this channel. I check it every night to see what awesome stuff has been posted. That said I do have a question. Above all I have come to love the runs with commentary. I have watched every marathon and every commented run posted to the SDA TH-cam. Is there anyway to find these other than on the YT channel, like perhaps on the sda site? I would love to see more commentated runs. Keep it up SDA. Thanks.

There are multiple categories for most games. A very common split is between Single Segment (what you refer to) and Segmented (which means that it's split up into multiple sections). The latter allows runners to pull off tricks that are otherwise impossible in single segment runs due to their difficulty, making them quicker overall. Some tricks are also only possible by saving and reloading (such as in Amnesia speedruns).It may be segmented, but a huge load of work went into each individual part
