In this video we traveled through deep snow to an abandoned ski resort called Los Arenales in Chile. This was the deepest powder snow we got to snowboard here in Chile. Our new Chilean friends brought us to this area because of the deep powder and quiet terrain. This turned out to not only be the best powder snowboarding of Chile but some of the best powder snowboarding turns of the year. We were lucky to have brought our split boards to Chile which helped us to hike up the mountain.

Is a ripstik kind of like a snowboard? I ride my ripstik now and again but I cant help but notice some small similarities. I want to learn how to snowboard when the season starts, and I was wondering if a ripstik can help me kind of practice for later in the year.

Beast vid as always! Heading to NZ this sunday! Does anyone know what creates optimal powder conditions? Snow on the day or snow during the preceding days? Think there will be snowfall in NZ next week.
Resort riding you want the runs groomed then for it to dump overnight or before the resort opens. Back country you want preceding days so that it settles and there's less avalanche risk. Resorts will do avalanche control themselves
