I’m a younger person, but something I’ve noticed from older music, especially from the 70s and some 80s, is how masterful the arrangement and mixing were. Even if the recording equipment wasn’t the best, they arranged their songs accordingly. They played instruments damn good back then, too. Something about those analog days just hits the spot. In modern digital music it’s hard to find a song that is well mixed and mastered in this fashion, even amongst industry professionals. It’s more “empty” now, there’s often something missing, and sometimes the frequency is even headache-inducing. Nevertheless I enjoy music from all eras, but it seems this style of music recording among popular genres hasn’t been passed down… I would love to hear about what changed from veterans in the industry.
Bands don't play music like they used to. Drum machines and synthesizers have taken over. A synthesizer cannot match live horn or string arrangements. And a drum machine cannot match a live drummer and live percussion instruments.

and that's EXACTLY how i feel because right now with tears in my eyes i'm thinking of my mama, daddy, grandparents, cousins, and friends that have passed.
Please don’t take this the wrong way but Black People created the most outstanding music of this century. Coming from a 67 year young Jewish lady married to a beautiful Dominican man. Don’t forget the Latinos latinas either❤❤❤❤❤
High vibrational music for your very soul!!! You can tell when a song makes you feel alive!!! Like you can feel the very cells inside your body moving to the groove!!! Yes!!!!
The O'Jays at their finest! My late grandfather loved this song. He'd have the whole house up dancing to this one! Such a beautiful, slightly haunting melody.

Now this is REAL black music. No auto tune nonsense. Great 4x4 beat, great lyrics and guys who could sing. Takes me right back to 1975. Sadly black music today does not deserve to be in the same room as these legends. Great Gamble/Huff song. Just Brilliant.

Listening to this song, thinking about my father yesterday. He was in his hospital room sitting up playing pc games and listening to music. The day before yesterday, his left lung collapsed. 24 months ago, his right lung collapsed and was on ventilator for a week or two, I forgot exact time frame. Praise Jesus this time not need a ventilator. At least this time he already was in hospital ( pneumonia ). He was looking and sounded so great the two or three days before lung collapsed. Shows how fast things happen, in unexpected ways. He also has either stage 3 or final stage COPD. Been in hospital since night of his 78th birthday 3 weeks ago. This song played on my mind yesterday after talked to nurse and it also played on my mind day or two afterhe was off the ventilator 24 months ago after hearing he was sitting up playing music. I'm from '76, my bro, '67. Same year, just in reverse! 😉😂😂😂😂😂
This sog by the O'JAYS is pure joy. Pure magic, reminds you of good times, love of family and friends. I LOVE MUSIC BY THE O'JAYS IS TIMELESS A PURE CLASSIC!!! ❤️
1976: The vocals of the O'Jays. The power of MFSB. The songs and production of Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. Damn, this is good! Just wish Philly International had put the whole thing on one side of the 45.
Happy 77th birthday to Eddie Levert, one third of the legendary group O'Jays, very much the spokesman for the group too, they scored massively worldwide with this belterjam from 1975
i love motown music and 1975 was the best, so so many memories and there will never be another era like it. when i listen to these songs i close my eyes and actually feel like im there, i miss it so much.
Nothing like Gamble and Huff productions. The true Kings of music !!Its been said a Gamble and Huff song is being played in the WORLD every 13 minutes !! Amazing!
There were thousands of tracks recorded by numerous performers at Sigma Studios that had absolutely nothing to do with Gamble and Huff. Those performers came to Philly for the MUSICIANS.

You have that right,I 💕 your music
I am smiling and singing along with the song 🎉
This sog by the O'JAYS is pure joy. Pure magic, reminds you of good times, love of family and friends. I LOVE MUSIC BY THE O'JAYS IS TIMELESS A PURE CLASSIC!!! ❤️
1976: The vocals of the O'Jays. The power of MFSB. The songs and production of Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. Damn, this is good! Just wish Philly International had put the whole thing on one side of the 45.
wonderful song, great memories of my youth! I love O'Jays
Nothing could be better than a sweet love song. That's the truth. I Love Music!!! Go guys!!
Still puts good vibes in these old bones...nuff said !
This generation has not a clue! Real musicians no machines no auto tune! Just soul and fire!
I agree 💯 totally
YES. Then generation has no clue--and it's not their fault. I hope some of them seek to find the real music!
Not a clue--and it's not their fault, either.
Happy 77th birthday to Eddie Levert, one third of the legendary group O'Jays, very much the spokesman for the group too, they scored massively worldwide with this belterjam from 1975
Yo man Eddie is the best ad-lib singer I ever heard in my 52 years. Just listen to how he starts this joint off...I love the guy
I agree 100 percent..Eddie's knows how to get'em up and rolling to the music. Thanks for sharing your talents to the would.💙

Music transports me to different eras in time. It is like traveling in time. I relive the past, so to speak.
i love motown music and 1975 was the best, so so many memories and there will never be another era like it. when i listen to these songs i close my eyes and actually feel like im there, i miss it so much.
Who's listening to this classic at this moment 2024 ?
Those were OUR days!
Me!!! ❤
Me. (smile).
