very cool that theyre actually the same faction and Hexbanes, really hoping thr Daddy Daughter witch hunter team also get this faction when they (eventually?) get rules The release article specifically calls out theyre part of the Order Of Azyr within lore
Yeah, they've been out for awhile and not gotten rules, so maybe they're saving for getting compiled into a single White Dwarf or annual compendium list especially if they include them at interesting cost points (150+100 or 125+75 for example)
Absolutely love them. Been excited to play Hexbanes soon and these are such an amazing edition. I am... skipping them for now with other projects on the Horizon, but I am definitely coming back to them and they will be loved (except Balthus). Need an edit of The Witch King and Eowyn replaced with Akhelian King and Lyssa using tangle them up
You reduce damage from each dice to a minimum of 1, and that effects lasts until the end of the battle round. If Valius uses that ability he becomes almost unkillable in combat
The profiles are nice and I will surely buy them for my narrative games. They are surprisingly versatile midrange fighters The abilities are interesting, but they desperately need some double abilities to spam. Unfortunately, I'm sure that we never see them in competitive lists. I think they are outshined in strength by the new Warcry warband boxes. (e. g: Wildercorp hunters)
Possibly. I enjoy the design space here though. The triple heavy nature gives a very unique feel on the table top that I personally enjoy. You get one chance per turn to do something potentially game changing, make it count, use the right one. It’s funky. They might not hit competitive dominance, but I’m ok with that. They’ll slide into the fatty middle wonderfully
Great video, I don't play Sigmar, but like Warcry, now I have enough info to get these figures and play them...assuming WG makes enough of them that is.
Nice nice video! These guys sure sound deadly, my one con is maybe that its mostly triples, but I guess if the other warband, Horns of Hashut, can work out with being a triple dice hungry band, then this could too. I'm gonna say that Valius is the main guy that will be frustrating to the opponent 😆
The triple thing is very interesting. They come across like a toolbox who do one big thing each turn… you just have to do the right big thing at the right time.
Heard the call from afar - the crusted call for help to slay the Demons of the Algorithm! Cinderfall may already be saved, but allow us to lend you our chaff!
Hey, love the channel. Wanted to run my list by everyone and see if I can get any pointers. I'll be bringing this to my casual games. Hexbane or Toll Callis Puck Grotbiter Ratspike Valius Errant with grand hammer Verentia or Axwold
This is a solid expansion of the base warband for sure. Errant with Grandhammer gives you all kinds of mobility tricks and is a rather handy in combat to boot. Pairing him with Vallius to get him into combat easier would be solid. I am a fan of both Verentia and Bridget, although I think I would go with Verentia for her utility. Being able to shut down pesky abilities can be game saving :)
Hanniver +1 toughness +1 crit Errant questor with grandaxe ( 3 doubles on that guy ) Valius da tank Quiet pock Armand callis Lyssa ( fly is great for objectives ( specially at 75 pts ) Grotbiter & ratspike great against pesky skinks and such
@simonbergeron2520 Beefing him up isn’t a bad idea at all. I am very greedy though, so I’d pump that crit all day and get to slapping XD It gets me into trouble all the time
Cat lady isn’t my favorite, but definitely forces your game to play “without abilities” for the most part. Use the triple to get rid of opponents triple, now you both just don’t have abilities. I question how viable that strategy is, but Azyr has pretty good stats models. It’s an option! Value based triple is very risky.
The way I see it, if I can burn my triple to neuter your entire game plan (Calthia being a common one), that’s a win. Even better, if you are feared out of making that triple or quad in the first place because you know I CAN destroy it, then I actually destroyed your triple or quad without spending any dice at all. There’s a mind game surrounding this ability that is tangible and wonderful
I'm pretty excited about this release (buh-bye, Haskel Hexbane). Interesting to see GW faction-locking with more frequency. I think you missed another key aspect of Lyssa that makes her even more amazing for 75 points: didn't I see the Fly rune mark on that card? This warband is going to be so CRAZY triples hungry. My first list is Toll, Calthia Xandire, Valius, Lyssa, Quiet Pock, Amos Duncarrow, Ratspike and Grotbiter.
I missed the sentence in my script where I mentioned it. Missed it when editing. Then realised about 5 mins after uploading. My life is over. I must now retreat to the west. I love these guys though. Suuuuuper cool

White Dwarf maybe? :O will be awesome if they continued to add to the faction

@Crushanator1 one can only hope :)
My next project for Warcry. Thanks for some ideas and band review. :)
They will be an awesome project. Models look amazing! Glad my video could be of use :)

We need to hire an expert meme-ster, stat!
How does Valius ability work excatly? It's less damage from each dice that hits him or just -6 damage from total damage points?
You reduce damage from each dice to a minimum of 1, and that effects lasts until the end of the battle round. If Valius uses that ability he becomes almost unkillable in combat
@@wargamesontoast wow, that's really strong
@Ar2r it can be. It being a triple (in a faction with lots of good triples) means it’s very situational.

@@wargamesontoast Rush and Onslaught also feel much more useful than the generic triples, which somewhat helps.
It also frees up resources for allies!
Great video. I feel it was a bit unclear though, what was your opinion on Balthus? Is he any good?
Balthus? Oh man, I’m so sorry. For clarity, Balthus is the best model in the Warband! Hope that helps bud :)

YAAAAS! You lot can deal with the off-brand Slaaneshi daemons! My gift 🎁
pretty sweet box. Can't wait to pick them up so I can cut Verentia lol
She’ll make her way back into your life

Valius da tank
Quiet pock

Lyssa ( fly is great for objectives ( specially at 75 pts )
Grotbiter & ratspike great against pesky skinks and such
Looking sexy. One thing to note is you can’t place more than one blessing on a laddie, so you’d have to pick between toughness and crit on Hanniver :)
@@wargamesontoast whaaat.... I tought we could do more than one .... Sad day . I guess id make im toughness 4

@@wargamesontoast i figure hes got enough damage potential as is , also adding that questor to the list really pumps up the dmg!
@simonbergeron2520 Questor are a great pick for an ally. Thundering Strides also helps get your laddies into position as well

Well id say its good when you dont need your triples and your opponent does. Or if they get a quad you absolutly do this!
Quads win games so nullifying them is VERY powerful. But you still need to get the inititive too. I wonder how often it will come up.

great video as always, correction on Callis though as they're a dude
I did a goof XD
I’m a fan as well!
How can you not be? The theme is amazing!
Can they team up with cities of Sigmar models?
Sadly, they can’t outside of standard ally rules!
Why you calling Armand "her"... guess just the head pic alone could be mistaken. Name should give it away tho 😅
Dastardly villain voice - the engagement.

@@wargamesontoast Lol well played, regardless then. 🤣
