Which impressed you the most? The video quality OR the audio quality of these cameras?

You conducted a thorough analysis of trail cameras, and the TC22 truly stands out with its incredible image quality. However, my personal experience is with the Campark TC02, which I’ve had for almost a year now. The most impressive aspect is that I’ve never had to use batteries, as it stays nearly 100% charged most of the time. I find this remarkable considering how long I’ve been using it.
On the downside, the audio on the TC02 is quite poor. From the start, I noticed that the sound quality was lacking, especially when compared to the excellent video quality. Today, I decided to make a change: I positioned the microphone outside the camera to see if it improves the audio. I’m hopeful because I’ve grown tired of having excellent video footage but subpar sound.

Thank you for your usage info on the TC02. That 100% recharge observation is amazing!
Good luck with your audio hack and fixing the sound issue. I will have to check out some footage on your channel.

In-depth review, Frank. Interesting alternative for me living in AZ. We've got lots of solar. I will do a deeper dive into these cameras because of this video. Thanks for taking the time to do all this. I'm digging this possible option, batteries suck.

I watched almost all the videos on this style and word is the cameras in full sunlight are rarely under 100% with or without extra AA's. Even the cameras in the dappled shade seem to stay fully charged. Let me know what you get!

I thought the TC08 was really nice especially at nighttime. Nice review. My first not concern with them is that the lithium battery is sealed so if it goes out that may be it for the camera. I would make sure they have back up batteries. These types of camera that I own have so far worked great for me. Take care Frank, Char

Thanks, Char! I agree on the potential sealed battery. I returned my first TC02 because the battery would not charge to 100% with the cord or the sun...All the others ones did no problem, so some of the batteries may be suspect.
      Thanks again for your input!

No I’m not there now. 🥲
I won’t go down until November. It’s the longest I’ve been away from there since 2020.

@@OchoVerde wow. We are headed down there Friday morning. For a while to see what we can get into. Would’ve been cool if you were there. Gotta find some locals to hang with.

@@OchoVerde Gonna start in Quepos area for a few days and then head north. We might travel to the Caribbean side as well. Cover as much ground as we can. Any recommendations? We need to plan a trip to the carolinas as well to get red pymies.

I always suggest a guide, especially for the night hikes as many of the parks are closed. Guides know where to find stuff. If you make it Puerto Viejo, Abel Bustamante is awesome.
The best thing to do, imo, is to join up onto the Facebook groups... Snake Identification Costa Rica, and Costa Rica Wildlife. Ask about local guides in there areas where you want to look around ... I'll make a comment or like/heart if I know first-hand of the situation. Best of luck--Pura Vida!

Somehow I missed this style of trail cameras. Users say they work well in shade and cloudy weather, so I am excited to get them down into the jungle!
