🎮 Comment This game actually needs a remake. Because levels and humor are great, but boy does this game have camera issues! It’s your biggest enemy all the time. You will see Jim getting a lot of damage here. The thing is that it is pointless to try to evade shots. It takes waaay more time than just getting hit and the game devs knew this, that’s why you get plenty of health. Another thing that needs fixing in a remake are the boss fights. Gawd, these controls.. like riding a pig! Oh wait.... Damn!
This game deserves a remake & a 2nd chance. It's NOT as bad as people say it is. And by "people" I mean slimeballs like Tommy Tallarico & Douglas Tennapel.
Agreed I played this as a kid on my n64 rented it from blockbuster 😁 unfortunately got stuck on the pig surfing part against psycrow:/ my favorite line from this game is when Jim shouts PORK BOARDING! followed by I’m assuming psycrow saying “I love the smell of bacon in the morning!🤣
I love this game on PC! The N64 version seems rather unpolished though.. lots of framerate ups and dips, only 8 out of the 22 music tracks and for some reason the Pork Board bounces around a lot. Trust me, the boss game's controls are much better on PC, and it's overall just the definitive version of the game.
I say Sega cd special edition is best had extra levels and cd audio quality earthworm 2 on Sega saturn/ps1 best for 2 also there's cd audio hack for earthworm 1&2 for genesis on emulators and ever drive carts for real hardware
I felt like i dreamt this game when i was a kid. It's very nostalgic for me. I dont remember who showed me this game because my brother never bought it before. But i vividly remember when your walking through his brain areas and then seeing his friend the dog through his eyes from the the inside of his head and it was mindblwing to me at the time.
I have something of an odd relationship with this game. I never played it as a child, but boy, did I read up on *everything* about it back when I was a teenager. I was fully aware of the reputation this game had and watched whatever playthrough footage I could at the time. Honestly, despite the bad press, I really wanted to play it - still do. Not just because I love _Earthworm Jim,_ but because of the vibe this game lets off. It has what I like to call *"N64 Cosiness".* Even though my N64 experience is limited, I feel this sense of comfort stemming from the console's aesthetic capabilities. _EWJ3D_ feels like a game you'd spend the Christmas holidays playing. Granted, it could be better, but there's such a charm to it. I especially like Jim's model looking like his 1995 action figure. It's a nice look. That and the music is awesome - Ged Grimes should be commended for how good this soundtrack is. 😁
@@thebubsy3dgamer Little update: I actually got the PC version on Steam, but I can't get it to work for some reason. Thoughts? Managed to find a good emulator and got playing the N64 version. @@DoctorInk20 Looking at the PCGamingWiki article on Earthworm Jim 3D, you might have a GPU issue. It’s advised to use the DgVoodoo 2 wrapper on it, or disable something called Nvidia Optimus if your’re using an Nvidia card. The Steam version also apparently is missing all in-game music? That might be a mistake on the Wiki’s part as it sounds too absurd and it overlaps with a similar issue with the sound effects not playing at all. Overall though, I’m getting the impression that the GOG version is more stable on top of being DRM free.
