There is no splice line between the scroll and the shaft of the neck, which is a modern neck. Therefore, the violin almost certainly dates from after ca. 1820, and probably from the 1900s. As other commenters have written, it is probably a German or Czech copy and not even intended as a forgery.

Antonius Stradivari built about 1000 Instruments. Nearly 8000 of them are in spain, germany, USA (20000, including all the attic findings) or anywhere in the world.
Now, a lot of them are copies. I found one in my attic, and at first I thought it was a replica (real), but it was a copy from about 1900. They still make copies, but never sound as good as real ones. For example, a school in my city bought hundreds of copies of them, new. The copies are different from replicas because we don’t exactly know what Antonio Stradivari did to make them sound so good, but some theories are that he used a fungus-eating bug to, well, get rid of the fungus. Whenever you find one, look at the top of the back of the body of the violin. It is a replica if it says Stradivari. Also, in the f-hole it will say Made In Italy. Mine said it was made in Germany, and that was how I knew it was just a copy.
@@ItsIanAgain You can also check for a join between the neck and the scroll ^^ old violin have their neck and scroll in two pieces ^^ it is because when they modernized the violin they had to completly rework the neck, so they built a new neck then cut the scroll off the old neck and past it on the new one. ^^

The fingerboard and nut, worn though they are, are not ebony. Even German copies (I have two really good ones) have real ebony fittings. There is no doubt its old just from the wear and tear on it. But it looks like it was used as a fiddle from the wear on the G side of the finger board showing that it was played (a lot) in the first position over many years. It looks in good enough shape to do a new fingerboard, nut and cleaning. With a decent set up it probably would sound pretty good. Well played fiddles are usually sweet sounding.

Most or maybe all the violins from 1700's were made for cat gut strings. So they had to be modified to play on today's strings. The Strad suffered the most because they weren't build that strong. Warping cracking of the plates top and back
Even through the background music all I heard was the clunk, clunk, clunk of this beautiful survivor being hit continuesly against the wood top table. How about putting some type of fabric for the violin to rest upon....just a thought...🙄!

I'm going to throw in my two cents on this subject again. Strad's perfection of the modern violin deals with it's overall shape. His necks were what a modern-day player would consider "Baroque."
One of the prime reasons for the change in neck length and angle was the standardization of the "A-440" tuning pitch. It was not actually set at 440-Hz until 1955 but it was between 435-Hz and 450-Hz from the late 1700's on. Handel's and Bach's "A's" were approximately 422-Hz and it went as high as 451-Hz at La Scala in the 1850's (I checked my notes from Music History class, lo those many years ago.). The typical Baroque neck could not handle the increased tension of the strings brought about by the raised pitch. Hence, the change in design.

Photos of the Hilton and Messiah show modern angled modern necks because they _are_ modern angled necks, not the original settings. These instruments are hardly "unmolested" by your meaning of the word. The few necks which have not been modernized clearly show the original straight setting. This is all well-established, and concretely understood in the violin world. I really don't understand how you have drawn many of your conclusions, since they are contrary to all evidence. I suggest you dump the other books, which really aren't authoritative, and start with Hills' book on Antonio Stradivari, which is available as a Dover reprint. Though written in 1902 it is still considered one of the very best authorities on the subject, with almost no factual errors.

what is the name of that tune
Interesante dato.
Your background music 🎼 is so lovely 😊.. What’s the name of the song??
Sad Romance (a.k.a. Sad Violin ) Ji Pyeong Kwon
This is the equivalent of finding a 100 year old Fender Strat copy.
🤝👍
Of course this is not a genuine Stradivari violin. That's a preposterous claim.
Blast ! You just ruined his kids chances at Harvard.
The wood and craft... doesn't even close. I restored a couple of student 100 years old instruments made in Europe... probably german. They are not so bad, sound good. But real strads are different universe.
Were the Blacamoors the masters that Antoineo Stradivari his craft.
Why does anybody who finds a violin at a garage sale or flea market that says Stradivarius automatically assume they found a priceless violin this is most definitely a trade violin from Germany from the 1900's all the Strads are accounted for
Tenho minhas dúvidas! Porque violino estradivarius tinha sua marca a fogo! Ou seja: um ferro em brasas!
Most or maybe all the violins from 1700's were made for cat gut strings. So they had to be modified to play on today's strings. The Strad suffered the most because they weren't build that strong. Warping cracking of the plates top and back
Was a common problem plus the neck angle so no Strat that is playing now is original.
DIOS te Bendiga
estas a venda ?
Question what is this sound track? Please let me know, thank you. Steve
Sorry its late but you can search for "sad violin"
I own the same one -
It’s a German made copy from. 1900
Late 1800s to 1930 or so I was told. Does yours seem to lack depth/growl on the G string? using d'addario zx med strings. Thanks for any information
I own one too!
Even through the background music all I heard was the clunk, clunk, clunk of this beautiful survivor being hit continuesly against the wood top table. How about putting some type of fabric for the violin to rest upon....just a thought...🙄!
Saludos! ; )
That violin must be worth tens of dollars! Lol
Wow!!
Dúos uno de estos puede costar 20 millones 😮😮
Superb😱😱
Just a cheap copy ,not a strad
can you give me the full name of this Strad, in English so I can understand it
Antonius straeivarius cremonenfis faciebat anno 1716( year 1716)
+xavi garcia what's the name that was given to it?? is it an ex something or just a name??
all Strads were named and hand numbered... all are accounted for with the exception of 1 or 2...Sorry
also the neck is not grafted... all strads have grafted necks due to being Baroque instruments made modern
+Peter Colby Hello, forgive Stradivarius is the surname of the luthier and is the name given to their violins, i.e. every their violins are called the same just change the year.
Encore...Stradivari a master craftsman!
Not an original. It's a French made copy. The purfling gives it away ;)
The only 1000 stradivari are made in italy in Cremona
Me parece mais uma cópia bem recente, já me deparei com várias desse tipo, com desgastes e fissuras muito semelhantes. Quem não entende acaba comprando.
If you only showed a close up of the F holes I would say I doubt that it is a Strad. It is a handsome violin anyway.
There is a possibility that the Shellac contains fine Jem stone crushed like powder . The wood may have been seasoned in Volcanic ash . This i was told many years ago to improve the sound of the wood.
Amo violino
