I'm going to add to this. I always do a couple of extra things when setting up a trap using MATT. First, stop the token movement and snap the tokens to grid. And second pause the game. This allows time for the player to roll and stops the others from moving until this action is resolved. Also it allows the player to potentially argue if they would instead use a different skill
Absolutely. I did those things in the original traps video, and ridiculous sounds. In V11 I have issues with the Stop Movement, but it's much smoother in V12.
Actually - do you have a specific example of what you want? There's a dirty way to do it that doesn't require scripting, and a "better" but more complex way that I'll need to practice a bit. Makes sense to show people how to do the exact sort of thing you're after.
@@clay_golem It does look like a FA asset but I am unable to find it in their Patreon pack. Maybe it's a retired version no longer available as there is one that is similar. Also did a Google Lens search and nothing. Strange. Thanks for the response!
What game are you running? If it's D&D, then it's most likely a simple setting - you need Monk's Token Bar to give you the option to make those ability rolls.
@@clay_golem A5E. I installed token bar, and there's no evidence of it not working, but no option in the roll type for anything beyond 1d2, 1d4, 1d6, etc. Those do work, but they don't call a specific roll with bonuses, etc.

Brilliant!
It's a trappppp!!! Just out of interest, have you had a look at a module called "Danger Zone"?
We've not covered Danger Zone - it's somewhere in the long list of mods to look at. I'll bump it up a bit and investigate.
Very good video, thank you! Do you know it it's possible to trigger something only when 2 or more players are stepping on a certain tiles?
Yes, possible. But I need to look into it a bit more and have a proper play. Will add it to the list of videos to cover, soon.

Too late! I was intrigued and had to have a play. Video incoming to show you how to do this. 😄
Just spamming you with replies now 🤣
Out of curiosity, where did you get that spike pit tile?
Errr..... You know, I can't remember. I've had it quite a while. Either a plain old Google search, or it's from a Forgotten Adventures free pack.

@@Raw-10 Actually, it looks like I pinched this one from Pintrest: www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/765612005378497395/
@@clay_golem That's great. Thank you for finding it. Nice to have more options.
Hmm...didn't work for me. Monk's only provides the option for a die roll, not a skill check. Guessing that part isn't system agnostic.

Hmmm... how very annoying. None of those mods are D&D specific, but I can only assume there's a conflict there.
