I met FoundryVTT through Gatewalkers and I've been loving this Ember series! It looks absolutely amazing and super fun to play! cant wait to see the final product!
I have struggled to keep a gaming group together, but I feel like Ember is the answer to it! If Ember works it would be so easy to just hop on with your pals and play!
Even the base Foundry platform is very flexible for any game you want to run. Many many systems are supported. Ember is nice in that it’s already preconfigured and ready to run but if you don’t use Foundry already, even that platform is amazing in itself
I think I have watched this episode like 5 times... I keep falling asleep after a long day thinking I'll get through it but I haven't 😅 GCN your welcome for the TH-cam views! I'm normally a podcast guy
This is so enjoyable, and it saddened me, is that there is only 1 more episode of this to go, then it's going to be quite a while to see more Ember content, along with however long it takes to get Crucible.
Haste gives you advantage on dex saving throws and a +2 to AC on top of the extra attack and movement.. Devs should check those are actually being applied because the system was def not auto rolling with advantage. Skid should have fared so much better in that fight, but alas there's also nothing you can do about rolling a bunch of one's.
( 5e rules detail: Guidance is a Concentration cantrip [annoying I know] and so is the spell Protection from Evil/Good. Also, Guidance does not give a bonus to attack nor saves. Both true for 2014 and 2024.) nb: when or if I DM, I remove Concentration from cantrips and limit them otherwise, like one person at a time and a few times per Short Rest.
Really looking forward to getting ember. But how has this area been undiscovered for so long did I miss something could some one not climb/ fly over to get into the area?
I can’t answer definitively but you can manually adjust your sheets and all in Foundry base software. So my guess is yes as many use Foundry in person and roll physical dice and manually adjust stuff on the character sheet. The virtual dice just make the automation quicker but I’ve played using Foundry online and my players rolled physical dice. Just more manual calculations.
Since version 12 of the software, you can set players individually or as a group to use real dice. The way the software works at that point is that it asks for you to input the value you got on your physical dice any time there would be a roll, but then it handles everything else for you the way it would if you were rolling electronically. That way, you can cut down on math and book keeping, while still clacking your math rocks. It will even work with some bluetooth physical dice.

Question for Andrew and team : Will there be multi-token support like in Foundry ? IE : a standing animated token , an alternative prone token / dead token swap etc ?
Since I won't be playing this in 5E, I really need to know more about the Crucible system before I can decide whether to support the Kickstarter so I know what I'm buying.
It would have been cool to see the Crucible system, but I understand their marketing choice here. I don't mind 5e, but seeing their own system would have been neat.
@@TheAmateurCreatorKaan The only thing I've seen revealed about it so far is that it's a dice pool-based system rather than d20 so it sounds like it's going to be nothing like 5E at all.
Is it just me, or is Joe using Lay on hands way too often? I believe it's just level x 5 hit point pool, so you'd only have 5 points to give out that whole day.
You can always use portrait style tokens if that's what you want. The system just comes with the default, animated to down assets as part of character creation
There's an older version previewed here. Major update coming this month, with a bunch of upgrades. But it's still in very active development th-cam.com/video/83FAsi9xEgQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=j-cHxM00fn71T_Kn
QA note for the interface designers: Either show the audience the exact current hit point totals for everything, or give them some kind of sparkline healthbar feature. Not being able to reference your progress in battle is super-annoying. We deserve to see you winning. We deserve to see you losing. Presently, an hour goes by and I can't tell you jack shit about what's likely to happen. FYI: If the numbers on the right of the Combat Tracker are the hit point values, okay, no problem. But why aren't they changing during this Kickstarter Beta stream? Just saying...
There are lots of modules that allow for that, along with core system configuration that can let you reveal healthbars. But the default behavior is to keep this information hidden because it's secret, and this demo is showing the default experience. Lots of people also like using modules that give vague health estimates (e.g. a text above the token that says "Bloodied", "Barely Injured".... based on hp percentage)
If it’s like base foundry and supports all the available or community mods and standard features, it’s HIGHLY customizable as to what you can show / hide.
Andrew has such an amazing vocabulary. Impressive ! Cheers all ! 🍻
The silliness of the gcn with the seriousness of the foundry dude is just classic
it is great chemistry. Hope we see more of him.
@@IskarJarek Same! I really like his descriptions and I think he balances out the group's chaos well.
Get this dude GMing a show if he’s up for it Troy, he’s an absolute champ for keeping it straight while you all goof about
Could even show off the new system Andrew has been making, Crucible
Great. Another GCN one off that I don't want to end...
Skid just accidentally picking the perfect battlecry for the BBEG fight is the most GCN thing I've ever seen.

Episode 3 lets go, hyped about the series :D
Can't wait to pick up from that cliffhanger last episode
It was a total, raging cliffy
This episode can also be titled: The Floundering of Flomberg. My heart goes out to Skid as I have been there too many times with my characters in D&D.

This cast just makes me happy.

My thoughts too! I'm going to miss this series when it's over next week!
Great game! I had to laugh at the archeologists giving the group a stone faced look.

Yes, even if it is like pre alpha. Some basic concepts. I don't want to play 5e either.
I feel it's safe to assume that Crucible will be somewhat similar to 5e (hopefully better) given that both systems have to support this campaign.
It would have been cool to see the Crucible system, but I understand their marketing choice here. I don't mind 5e, but seeing their own system would have been neat.

Why not play the Foundry system? 5e is boring.
Crucible (the Foundry system) isn't quite ready yet.

And Foundry has the ability to show everyone's health bars, so I agree, just activate that. ;D
