@biffybeans, yeah, me neither. There are Japanese notebooks that work great with fountain pens that are 70g, and the old small Quo Vadis Habanas were 64g....I think a lot of the mystery concerning the change in paper is because the original 80g Habanas gained a reputation for not being fountain pen friendly, and that's why everyone was afraid of the change. They thought the paper would be like that paper (but it's not, it's like the 90g paper).
wonderful review, thank you! show through on the back is one of my biggest concerns with notebooks. i also like the off-white. the 5.5mm is also fantastic. it's so difficult to find fine-ruled lines.
@topendoodle, can you clarify? Are you talking about the space from the end of the line to the edge of the paper? You're welcome! It wasn't easy to get it out so fast, but I knew if I didn't do it right away, then I wouldn't have the time later on!
It should arrive today. Along with the 9 bottles of ink I also ordered from you. I wish I had known about your shop when I was in Ashland this weekend.
Quo Vadis has an A4 Habana (like what you see in this video, but bigger), it has 80 pages. What you might be looking for though is called the Leuchtturm1917 Master notebook...the paper dries ink fast, it's A4 size, and has around 250 pages!
Which has the lighter color paper, the Habana or the Rhodia Webbie? I'm not fond of the yellowish color but I am really wanting a journal that will work with my stub nibs.
Yeah, Clairefontaine has a cloth sidebound notebook that's really nice and affordable (www.gouletpens.com/clairefontaine-classic-side-clothbound-collection/c/73). It doesn't lay flat like the Leuchtturm would, but its a great alternative option. - Colin
Most of the color options have been discontinued by the distributor over the years. Leuchtturm notebooks are similar in style and also have a huge variety of options with them. - Colin
Hey hey, can i ask what notebook (larger than A4 size) has lots of pages, for sticking in newspaper articles and writing. And what is a good pocket notebook that dries up really quick (with fountain pen) Thanks
Good! So many people have had a hard time with the transition, it's good to hear some positive affirmation.
@outworldarts, thanks! I knew there was a lot of mystery surrounding the new paper, so I wanted to get it out there as quickly as possible.

I just bought my first leuchtturm and I am waiting to see and touch its paper
Awesome! So you were just in Ashland? Well, we're not open on the weekends, just during the week...
Haha! Granny-panties @ 15:14! I just ordered one of these from your shop. I can't wait to write on it!
@suspendedanimation, I know! I was a fan of the blue too. C'est la vie!
Sounds like the changes they made are right up your alley then! It is hard to find fine-ruled notebooks.
Haha, you like that? :) Thanks for supporting my store! I'd love to hear what you think of the Habana.
I think it was a great move going to the off white paper.
Thanks for the detailed comparison! Wish they had kept the blue though...
Thanks for the great review, it's a huge help.
@Lukergamer haha, yes :) It's bigger now
I like the warmer paper color, but the fine ruling is disappointing - the wider ruled paper was suitable for most common nib widths.
totally agree glenn. lining is essential
Not sure why people would be concerned with a 5g difference when the Rhodia white paper is 80g and FP's work fine with that.....
Which has the lighter color paper, the Habana or the Rhodia Webbie? I'm not fond of the yellowish color but I am really wanting a journal that will work with my stub nibs.
Both of them use an off-white page color. Something like a Clairefontaine or Apica use crisp white pages that could work for you. - Colin
Colin....does Clairfontaine offer a bound journal?

your stock of those beautiful notebooks is really low. are you stop to carrying them or have you simply sold out most of it?

*Little* pen collection.
