Our camper renovation isn't quite finished...but since baby #8 is due in just one week, it's time to take this Jayco out for its maiden voyage!

When I ran a campground for 3 years, bathroom cleanliness was my biggest concern! If the bathrooms are gross people will remember that and not want to come back. My janitor would come at 4am every day and clean them so they were nice and clean for morning showers. Then maintenance would do spot checks thru out the day to sweep, spray cleaner, etc. but holiday/busy weekends were awful. A LOT of kids found it fun to clog toilets on purpose. I don’t know why! One Memorial Day weekend I put my toddler to bed (we lived in a small apartment above the front office) and I stuck my baby monitor to my hip, and hopped in my golf cart and had to go clean 3 bath houses bc they were soooo dirty. I just could not sleep knowing they were that dirty! I was embarrassed! I spent probably over an hour scrubbing 24 stalls and 9 showers. But I loved reading the reviews about how clean our campground was. It’s worth it to have people compliment it and tell friends. Bathrooms are so important!

I have a tent trailer as well and I know space is the most important thing in the trailers, here's some hints that have helped me add more storage space in mine and I love it!
Look on Amazon for a stuffed toy hammock, you can hang this over your head in the beds and use it to store anything: blankets, sheets, flashlights, cell phones. its a triangle shape that I hooked to the 2 ends of the back canvas support bar and the other to the overhead canvas support bar. The other life saver item is the closet wire rack storage shelf. You can buy this in different lengths. I used S hooks and chain to hang the racks on both sides of the camper and this works great! a must have! I store shoes, jackets, extra supplies... on the other side above the stove i store the dry food items.Hope this helps!

What a great idea to just bring the bagels and toaster out! My sister and I are both single moms and have been wanting to do can life, but we can’t for a while, so we just decided to buy a pop up together. We have 3 kids between us, 15, 12, and 9. So they’re all on diffferent sleep schedules. I’m sure I will remember this when we go on our first trip! We haven’t been camping together since we were kids and I miss it soooooooo much.

My husband lived for several years in Sicily before I knew him. We went to Italy for several weeks early on (before we had children!) and travelled from the north of Italy to the south. I was mesmerized by the beauty! What a wonderful country

I have four girls and I feel all of our camping adventures helped develop them into very self sufficient confident young women who now live in their own apts in Chicago!! Well done. My husband and I just bought a hi-brid camper last late fall. We will be trying it out this spring. I have already booked a couple weekends and plan to book more time yet. Thinking I would like to go at least 5 times and hope to enjoy it. I have one weekend booked with grandsons, another with friends and another with family members. I plan one with my cousin and another myself and husband. I can't wait. We live in Ontario and by Lake Huron so many camp grounds right in the area to try first before going further.

We all could have happily stayed another day or two but had to get back for a meeting. Now we know for next time! It was a good experience 😃

Yes she did. It’s actually been several months since she “tried to cut bangs”. That tells you how short it was! 😆
I have no clue how you handle a family that size so well. I would be so worried being around the water with several children. I have 2 and feel like I can't keep up with them. I think it is awesome that you can do all that and be calm! I just started watching this channel. Love it.

My fingers swell when I’m pregnant... just enough that I can’t fit my wedding ring. So my husband bought me a silicone band this time around. They are amazingly comfortable and I could still feel married 😆😜

How much does your camper weigh?
So you would recommend a pop up for camping then? Seems it would be low maintenance compared to a rv for example . Are you able to set it up yourself or do you need your husband to help you?
I was happily surprised how much I enjoyed the pop-up! I’m looking forward to going again. I haven’t tried to set it up, but my 11 year old son was able to do it himself after watching a how-to video off TH-cam 😆 so it’s fairly simple to do.
We camped in hot weather but it was so comfortable with the small AC window unit that our friend installed. Being so pregnant made me appreciate that extra pampering! 😃
We have camped in an RV before and it has its perks too, but a pop-up is cheap to buy, easy (small) to store, and we could pull it with our van. It was great

No it didn’t. They used a roof caulk to seal it
