I got my hands on vorpX so I could play the game in VR and this was my very first stop. I just stood around on the edge of the roof taking in the sights and sounds.
The little sample at 2:23, and plays again at 2:36, will always *always* stick with me as conveying this feeling that nothing else ever has or ever will. In combination with all the other sounds, it's so distant, serene and threatening all at the same time, it's distilled stoicism. I play through this game annually to remind me what a truly unique experience it is and to draw inspiration from it.
It truly elevates this track. It is even better if you listen to the full song, when the "drop" comes and the key changes to the minor. Then the chime stab comes and gives the whole minor section a haunting feeling. (If you listen to the full track, it comes in at 2:10)
Almost done with the game, have a few more missions to record content for (Kate and The Boat) and I am basically done everything, I just need to edit and render it all. Once I'm done with Mirror's Edge I'll get back into Catalyst, Deus Ex and maybe some Mass Effect stuff. I also want to start Halo Reach soon. I know I am skipping a few songs and segments from earlier missions (Jacknife storm drains, Jacknife chase etc.) but I'll finish them eventually. But the next batch of videos will be from the New Eden mission.
Many thanks again for the constant consistent uploads. This is a very good one! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family gaming ambience! Cheers to a happy 2021 for you.
@@GamingAmbience - That was disrespectful of me to assume you were American. My deepest apologies. Regardless thank you for your passion and sharing all these videos with us throughout the years.
I'm gonna sound like a broken record - because everyone else has pointed this out already. But, damn. It's insane how well this game holds up visually after all these years. Beautiful to look at. Really appreciate you putting these videos up. I like having 'em on while doing other things. Take care all! 👟🏃♀️🪜🏢💼
the sunset chapter. it would have been amazing if it was nighttime by the time Faith escaped the subway tunnels. fun fact: you can glitchlessly avoid having to turn off the electric fence, however it's an insane jump from a wallrun. also, I dare you to make the jump between the first two balconies. you know, you actually have to insanely feel the game. in Catalyst, you just springboard off everything. not here. here, one millisecond and you're dead if you try something tricky. don't feel like dying? right. just follow the Runner's Vision and watch as I... run right next to you because I don't feel like dying either
This tune has everything. Soft low end, amazing mid frequencies with the leads, amazing space with the FX moving from left to right, ever-present, interchanging rhythm, sounds that come and go keeping it fresh and full of novelty, and i dunno, to me this beats everything. It even has damn white noise!! And not permanent either, meaning you just get washed with white noise for a minute and it goes back down to earth!!. I didn't know that perfect of a tune was in this game, I mean I did, I heard it, but now that I use it to study it's just marvelous. I've got like a hundred and fifty different tunes to study with, but this one beats every single one by a mile. I doubt kate puzzle will be able to top this, although knowing GA's skills, it can. Until then, this is my home. Thanks GA! This is my 3rd comment lol
The Shard ambience is another favorite of mine. Not puzzle, not combat. The ambience right before you take the elevator to the server room. It's so quietly hostile. You know you are in a really enemy territory. It's like it's cold as hell but you have to enter the lion's den. Also, everything is blue. The very opposite of red. Really creepy, and it has several variations. One is more subdued, the other is really pulsating, louder and more menacing. I'm sure GA will handle it just fine.
I can confidently say I have studied with almost every single ME music track (51 in playlist) at least 3 times and this is by far the best one for me. Although "prisoner X" and "family matters" remain on the top with perhaps over 10 plays each.
Thanks for making this. I may never forget when Ropeburn gave me a legit jump scare. Haha or that one damn green ledge that took me like literally 24 mins to figure out. Love this game. Nice to see it's reception on TH-cam. Music is splendid too.
I think this ambient segment of Ropeburn is my absolute favourite. It tops anything else I’ve heard, and I’ve listened to a lot of different electronic music; but for me this this is just the best! Thank you Solar Fields! 🙏🏼You are an utter genius. This piece transports you when you hear it! It’s beautiful. And it gives me such a feeling of bliss when I listen to it that tears form in my eyes. I can’t fully describe what this music does to my mind, but I love it!
I like the isolation.....especially because I can return to society by turning the game off. it's a fun escape, not somewhere I'd like to live forever.
Thank you so much for providing all this wonderful content :D I can't imagine not being able to just lay down and chill with your Mirror's Edge soundtracks sometimes...
Listening to this if I'm feeling sad, depressed, tedious. I miss old games and just introduced many things in life that was enjoyable, but we secure and move on to relax whatever's on your mind; Great Music.
You technically can't get there with Faith, but with the camera unlocked you can fly there, or maybe you could if it were possible to noclip around the map with Faith, haven't tried that though.
Something that has always caused me dissonance with this game is that the city is described as a "horrible" place, new but where the citizen is subdued 24 hours a day. Nevertheless, I have always wished to live in a city as beautiful as the one presented in these landscapes.
Faith: There's a bird going in the direction of Ropeburn's meeting. Merc: You think it's Ropeburn's pal? Maybe, but it look a CPF one to me, and how many other people can get their paws on a bird in this place? Not many... Hey, you'd better get going if you want to catch them, and keep off street level too, Blues around.
I usually have glitches with the sky in this level if I try to use freecam. It's so pretty and of course once again the calming themes in the first entry are pure joy!
Merc: I'm looking at the plans for this place, a labyrinth... and quiet too. No wonder Ropeburn picked it. But, there a bird involved... I guess it'll will lead you to the roof. You're gonna need to find a way up. You through yet? So... that's a no then.
Just gonna say that Ropeburn is definitely a badass name. Honestly bummed he got [redacted[, but made sense that [redacted] would have wanted him [redacted] for more than one reason.
This game is a piece of art
There’s something so indescribably meditative about this track, it really makes you feel at peace and I wish more people could feel this way
I love that vibe with the orange sky and the sun , imagine just chilling in one of the rooftops and contemplating the view with a confortable chair
nah man only jumping at a leisurely pace from the rooftops
@@arturbogdan353 haha , seems good to me too
the sunset...it promises a warm destination, a place to reach that brings peace and closure......

Been studying with this for 8 hours now. It's really such a serene tune. Dude this is really just perfect ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the pad is nuts.

The ambience loops are great background music for working from home; this one especially. I got a lot done this morning.

I am pretty sure I did a lot of off-track jumps in this chapter, as this map was about the weirdest for me, and that says a lot about The Boat.

I really appreciate you separating the soundtrack segments like this
This track in particular sounds amazing
This is stronger than anything from the sequel, although that has great music also
