Thank you for this lovely video. The village looks absolutely enchanting. There is also a special Dickensian quality about the light which emphasises the quaintness of the place and the beauty of the architecture.
Hi Lynda. Your comment reflects why I make walking videos as not everyone can get to see these places for themselves which could be for geographical, health or mobility issues. My goal is to bring the outdoors indoors if that makes sense? Hope you had a nice Christmas & thanks for watching. OAAW
Hi J T. Thank you for watching & commenting. The warm white of the of the lights looked very nice indeed and gave a wonderful feeling of nostalgia, only thing missing was a nice covering of snow to complete it. At least it was cold and frosty tho. Regards. OAAW
The golden colour of the stone paired with the golden Christmas lights makes for an extra special cosy walk. I do love the Christmas period seeing the beautiful lights and decorations. It is my favorite time of year. Excellent video as always 🎄🎅
Hi Chris. Glad you enjoyed this one :). I already have plans for Broadway for this coming Christmas, I will be upping the game a bit as I have some ideas I’m going to try out for the Xmas video...Thanks for watching. OAAW
It’s lovely how people go to the trouble of putting up lights, decorations, ect, to make it pleasant and pretty for others, it looks such a lovely place that beautiful olde world charm happy new year Cotswolds
Hi Suzy. Yes indeed, makes for an even lovelier atmosphere in such a charming town. Hope your New Year has got off to a good start. Thanks for watching. OAAW
I stayed at the Lygon Arms about thirty years ago for New Years Eve. This place is sheer bliss. On New Years Day a treasure hunt was organised with a chance to explore. It was all magical, stunning as this walk shows!
What a dreamy town, even without Christmas lights it must be lovely. Each house has some charming quality or detail to admire. If I lived in such a beautiful place I'd go for long meditative walks far more often and it would be a pleasure.
I have not been able to watch one of your walks in a while and saw that this Christmastime walk from a couple of years ago was one that I had not yet seen. (I could tell because I always put a “thumbs up” for them and this didn’t have it yet). It was lovely to see all the Christmas lights in the trees, shops, and homes, and the shop windows looked very inviting. I hope you are continuing to make progress as you prepare your new videos to be posted. Wishing you and your family a happy Christmas! P. S. Wow, the birds surprised me, seeing as it is winter!
Hello Janet. It is always wonderful to hear from you but even more so on the very eve of Christmas. This was a very memorable Christmas walk as it was very cold and frosty and I could literally feel the magic of Christmas in the air. Most definitely making good progress now, so much so that it could be just a couple of weeks away from hearing and seeing the new content :) Thanks very much for every single thumbs up that you have given and your time on the walks. Wishing you both a lovely and Merry Christmas. OAAW
@ Thank you; it sounds as if that was a really lovely walk! I hope to squeeze a Christmas walk in sometime tomorrow. I have not gotten out to walk much in the past week as I just adopted a rescue puppy, and she has been getting acclimated to our home. Normally that would mean more walking, with a new dog- but in our location in NY state we have just had a spell of truly frigid weather, and it was not possible to take her out for any appreciable length of time. I will walk solo til the temps moderate a bit. How exciting that you are in the home stretch with your new videos! I anticipate watching them soon, and expect that the “thumbs up” will continue. :)
My favorite time of the year. The lights, the crisp cold air...they warm the heart. How is there birdsong in the evening (in the beginning of the video at around 0:20 and15:05)? Should the opportunity arise to visit England one day, I would love to get my hands on a "Insta360 Pro 2" to record 360 degrees video for a more immersive experience. The price tag is quite hefty at the moment, but as more company's get into it, the prices should go down.
Hello Michael. Good to hear from you and hope all is well. I think I also prefer this time of the year. The bird sounds took me by surprise initially then I realised there must be an Avery the other side of the fence. I will have to have a look at the 360 cam here on YT to see what they are like. I am planning on buying a DJI Osmo Action 3 shortly as they can record in 10 bit with E.I.S switched on. My Pocket 2 is not the best as it suffers badly from exposure flicker and keeps shutting down in the summertime. Lately I have been using the Osmo Action One which provides a stable image in terms of exposure but the overall picture quality is not as good or as sharp as the Pocket 2. Thanks for watching. OAAW
@@OutandaboutWalking You certainly know your equipment. Thanks for the great video, and informative as well about the birds. Around here we only have crickets at night haha
Broadway is a very pretty town and for the end-of-year celebrations there was a real explosion of lights!!. It is magnificent, magical and very beautiful. The trees lit up with multitudes of light, the shop windows too and the houses too, without forgetting the exterior decorations. The word magic is the right word. Thank you OAAW 😀😀😀😀😀
Good evening Françoise. I hope you day has been a good one. Glad you enjoyed Broadway. I am hoping to make a return visit this festive period but this time with a trick up my sleeve for a much higher quality video production. All the best to you. ~OAAW~
My favorite time of the year and mostly I love the lights, music and Christmas decorating. I fairly recently discovered the beauty of the Cotswolds in part from watching a British TV Series (i own all 9 now : ). I fell in love after watching the "Father Brown" tv show and had to buy them as I watched and rewatched over many times. The show is wonderful but what really drew me in to 'stay' was so much was filmed out of doors and I saw all the beauty and old old buildings and homes and just fell in love with the Cotswolds! This Christmas walk was just amazing , thank you so much (from Canada)
Hi Jo. First of all, a very warm welcome to you to the channel. Secondly, that is really nice to hear just how much you are enjoying the beauty of Cotswolds and all thanks to “Father Brown” :). You may well be pleased to know that the majority of videos on this channel are filmed in and around the Cotswolds so you will have a plentiful supply of nice immersive walks. Thank you so much for walking with me. Regards. OAAW
Hello Jeannette. The Cotswolds is a large area nearly 800 square miles and consists of many counties but to answer your question the area has a population of approximately 140,000. Thanks. OAAW
Hi Elaine. Glad you enjoyed it. I do agree, some orchestral Christmas music would of worked well for this video. I will make sure I write some fitting music in time for next Christmas as I will definitely be revisiting Broadway in December. Thanks for watching. OAAW
@@OutandaboutWalking - Being Brit born but then, as a child, being relocated to Canada, I thoroughly enjoy any chance to visit my birthplace once again and especially via a lovely video such as yours.
