I used to fish here.... 6x 20lb fish and the "scare" in 3 hours. Sadly so much mouth and scale damage due to match fishing ! The Scare was carrying 5, yes 5 snapped lines including 1 feeder that could drop off (death rig). I've seen decent carp just dropped in keepnets causing scale damage, and when I questioned it the fella said "you've gotta be quick in a match mate" !! When we carp fish we are required an unhooking mate, a minimum 42 inch landing net .... so why are match anglers allowed to use the smallest landing net and show little care or respect for the capture ?
Thank you for your comment Billy. I can not comment on the who you spoke to, but you can not round up all match anglers into the same bag, most take due care when unhooking fish, doesn't matter what size and net limits / rules are in place to be followed for the purpose of fish care. Most match anglers, know the fish they are targeting and their tackle will reflect the type and size of fish to be caught. You can not paste all match anglers with the same brush, as I wouldn't for carp anglers, there will always be good and bad ones. There are a lot of match anglers and carp anglers that respect the fish and sport, others not so much. I will always listen to the anglers on my matches if they come to me with a concern about fish management. Once again thank you for your comment....

I thought u was allowed 15 min to land a fish after the buzzer in a match or does this rule vary from venue to venue?
