I am Nephi Acaling. I am native to Bacolod City but currently living outside the Philippines due to job assignment. I’ve lived in different countries like Singapore, Japan and United States due to job assignments. I was in the US when I started this channel thus the confusion to some where I am truly based.
At a time, I was a band vocalist performing every Friday and Saturday night at a local bar chain but recently decided to quit from my band to focus on my TH-cam Channel and my full-time job as an engineer.
I was a member of the Filipino Voice Symphony where I was taught by professional chorale singers (e.g. former soprano from UP Madrigal Singers). Our choral group actually bagged the Gold Medal in the International A cappella Championships held in Singapore in 2011.
I was the Glee Club president and was a trainer for various singing competitions when I was in the university - all these were humbling experiences for me.
WHAT IS THE GOAL?
My mission is to promote music among different regions and try to make people from different countries relate to each other through music and singing. I have always believed that even small gestures in understanding similarities and differences towards others may actually lead to greater awareness about countries and their people.
In this modern world full of things that divide humanity, it is but perfect to put efforts in re-uniting and building bridges among all of us.
I have come to a point of trying to find a greater purpose in life, something beyond just being happy for a moment. Happiness in life is more meaningful if we choose to be useful, be honorable, be compassionate, and make a difference.
Mamamoo can dance too. They can do everything except lip syncing 😂

So lemme give a gist. This performance was from a Show called queendom and in this round they had to perform a fan favourite. They decided to do I miss you and included clips from their trainee days to show how thankful they were to their fans.
From left to right, it's Moonbyul, Solar, Wheein and Hwasa.
Moonbyul is the lead rapper but lately she's been singing more.
Solar, Wheein and Hwasa are singers, and officially Mamamoo don't have position, but if I had to put them in boxes, solar is the lead vocalist, wheein the main vocalist and Hwasa both sings and raps.
Mamamoo write and compose a lot of their songs. Their rapper moonbyul has credits on most of their songs.

Wheein - Anymore, Goodbye and With my tears. Wheein does ballads extremely well. Moderato is a bit more fast paced. Her vocals are beautiful and she is the best dancer in Mamamoo in my opinion.
Hwasa - Her most recent album Maria, it has beautiful tracks. Maria and LMM showcase her vocals and songwriting skills and Kidding showcase her rap
Moonbyul - Her cover of Don't forget by Crush and Taeyeon is really good. If you want her rap based performances Moon movie is good. For more of her vocals, iljido, absence and Let's go see the stars.

Sir, you have good taste. This group of girls, Mamamoo is praised for their vocals, not to mention they are good dancers too. Their live performances are one of the best you will ever see in KPop. Their artistry has been recognized by veteran musicians, composers, and classical rock singers in SK. Mamamoo is considered as "Artists" by their seniors and actual singers who are in the industry for a long time. Mamamoo is the only 3rd gen Girl Group who actively participates in writing, composing, making chores, and even choosing the idea for their Music Videos. They came from a small company but made the whole world listen to their talent.
Queendom was hosted by Mnet last year. Mamamoo won the finals. Each of their performance was concert level. I miss you is really close to us fans. Thank you for your reaction. Its one of the rare times ever you have this many talented singers in a four member group - Hwasa, Wheein, Solar (they don't have main vocal positions in this group but if they did they would all be that level and beyond). Moonbyul the rapper actually trained as a vocalist first and even covered a ballad recently. Mamamoo are a scary vocal group but they also have it all - dance, rap, personality, songwriting and composition skills, creativity they are also so funny too !etc.
Also Mamamoo are underrated for how talented they are but they are not underrated. One of the most popular kpop girl groups have hit domestic songs since 2016 in South Korea and have also made a name internationally and is still increasing now! All the members do well as solos and as a group! I just don't want to underestimate how big they are too 🤗 but definitely still not popular ENOUGH for amazingly talented they are

They're the only K-Pop idol group that has ever achieved this in the history of the show. It's called Immortal Songs and I honestly became a hardcore fan after watching their performances there! :D

They do join singing contests individual too haha! They are so good and so underrated for their talents.
They each have solo careers too! It's probably the best opportunity to check out the rapper's voice. She has recently started to sing more parts in their group songs too, though. Her name is Moonbyul, and she's got a lovely voice, but didn't use it early on because the company pushed her into rapping since she's not as strong as the other Solar, Wheein, or Hwasa. She's an excellent rapper though, so it feels even better to hear her start singing again.
I think you really like their live vocals, so I'd strongly recommend checking out their Immortal Songs 2 performances. IS2 is a show where they invite singers/groups to compete in remakes of very well-known songs. The competition ranges from kpop idol groups to legendary solo artists, so it's very impressive if kpop idols/groups can win. Mamamoo is the most invited group (14 times) and was the first to win as rookies (~1.5 years after debut). Unfortunately, you might have to tweak the video to not get restricted by copyright. (Kind of like this one, I assume.)
The most popular suggestion is typically "Delilah," since many are familiar with Tom Jones' original. But I also really enjoyed "Passion Flower" and "Wonderful Confession" as well. Enjoy listening to their music! :)

I really hope you can react more to mamamoo. Although they are very known in Korea, but internationally they are still picking up their pace. I think this can be proved when you say that its the first time you've heard of them. But im so glad recently people are getting to know them more internationally. Not tryna be biased, but in my opnion mostly other reactors often react to visuals and dance.
I think most of the comments have introduced mamamoo's members and their role in the group. Mamamoo really raised the standards for kpop groups. They literally have everything, vocals, visuals and ofcourse they DANCE too! What's amazing is their vocals are incredibly stable even when they dance and thats a +1. No lip sync on stage, even if they do, they are awfully bad at it lol. They are one of those groups that wont just solely focus on their performance by memorizing and executing all the dance steps, but they will just enjoy the stage. Powerful stage presence and they really know how to hype up the audience. I think that's what real performers should be able to do, making the audience enjoy the music whilst the performer enjoying the stage.
