Ok, i know you wrote that comment a long time ago and i guess that your tone now is much better than before, if not, don't worry, we all sucked at tge beginning. It takes a long time to get rid of the airy sound, sometimes it takes few months, sometimes several years. My best advice is just playing a lot, it takes time, don't worry. I got rid of the airy tone after one and a half years of playing. I remember that i was in a camp (from my youth orchestra) and we played like 3 times a day all together and 2 times a day just the flutes and once flute with clarinets. All together it was a very intense week of playing the flute, it was tiring BUT we all became a lot better, only because we played that much. And also try different embouchures, that might also help.

But the flute is, in fact, a very powerful and robust instrument that can produce a wide array of tone color. Just look at some of the major orchestras especially the European orchestras and you'll see that the flute section is mostly, if not all, men.
The flute is as sweet as a cane, and from Vietnam, I love you. I love the melody from the flute, I love the bamboo flute sound of the Vietnamese homeland. Hope to meet you once in Ha Long, Vietnam. Like like!

I’m not certain, but I’m pretty sure that this arrangement came from Flutegirl.ca. Flutegirl.ca is a wonderful program with a ton of songs in various genres, and they all have accompaniment. If you are a member you can download all the music. I use it all the time and I highly recommend it for Junior high through high school age students, or adult students who are returning to flute.

I don't know what flute that is, however, as you are more advanced you may want a flute with holes in it's keys for better sound.
