I just purchased my first Smith (RWS) Waite deck after getting 12 other decks (nonRWS) and this video convinced me to by the borderless version. Thanks Kelly for all your reviews. They are truly timeless.
I love the RWS centennial but don't like the US Games copyright on every card...and I found the Colman Smith by Lo Scarabeo was a really gorgeous version. It's the perfect size and is thinner card than most Lo Scarabeo decks which makes it easier to handle. So if you find the copyright obnoxious, I really recommend Lo Scarabeo Colman Smith ♡
Off topic: I finally bought the shadowscapes tarot and I fell in love. I actually switched out of working with the druid craft for the first time in years. So, thank you for making me aware of it.
I have the centennial Smith-Waite and honestly cfan't find anything that resonates with me more. its just such a classic look. I wanted to love the Mucha one, but there was just something off with it for me.
You once did a walkthrough of a tarot pip deck wirh really beautyful art in the pips. I just went through your walkthroughs , but could't find it. Can you help me?
Hi Kelly! I’m super interested in this class (been hoping for it!) and have two questions: I have been studying Tarot (RWS, Thoth, and Marseilles) heavily for the last six months, especially the last several weeks- and I’m starting to dig super deep into the esoteric stuff. Now that I’ve got the individual card meanings down, I really feel like my next step is to learn to *read* a spread as an integrated whole instead of dissecting the cards one by one. I love watching you read- it’s like magic. Do you think this class would help me learn how to read the cards as an integrated whole vs. just being able to “translate” them one by one? Second, would the Crystal Tarot be an okay Pips deck for this class? Thank you! This is super exciting!
Chel Micheline Hello Chel! We will be going through all the cards but always with the focus on how cards interact for reading. So, for example, in one class we will go through all the Majors for basic meanings but also in how they “talk” to each other in spreads. It’s so hard to judge for people! I guess the short of it is that we WILL be going through each of the cards, so Majors, Courts and Pips but always with the focus of how will they interact. Two of the classes will focus specifically on reading but reading will be in each class. I have no clue if that helps at all! The Crystal Tarot is fine for a pip deck HOWEVER, the Crystal Tarot follows (not exactly) Eudes Picard’s minors and uses Air for Cups and Water for Swords so you will either need to ignore those associations OR be prepared to swap those on your own as I definitely follow the Air for Swords and Water for Cups and will be in this class. :) Hope that helps you decide!
For a classic RWS the Universal Tarot is fantastic and the deck i studied with before I knew about the centennial. There is a gilded edition called the Golden Universal Tarot. Another deck that actually comes with a decent guidebook would be The Vivid Journey tarot; it’s very cartoonish. And lastly another witch centric clone deck is The Witches Tarot; which also has a guidebook but it’s not particularly my favorite as far as guidebooks. And I would also prob recommend the Llewelyn tarot. Obv the guidebook is great with all the welsh history/story behind it and well I just love the painterly feel of the deck. (Surprised you didn’t mention it)
Great information on these decks, thank you so much for sharing!! You did an amazing job with the selection.🌸

Love it when you talk about decks
My favorite one of all these is MORGAN-GREER. I like the close up style.

...I'm really enjoying your channel. Have a most wonderful week!
Loved it! I think the magical forest deck is a good RWS clone that is non threatening and sweet to work with. Glad to see you are feeling better!
Space Between the Notes I have heard a lot of people say this!!
I know it's stupid, but it cracks me up hearing you say "porn stache."
Tom Benjamin 🤣🤣
Agreed... "porn stache" makes me giggle:)
I'm going to have to agree with Tom...I had a good solid "man Chuckle" with that one.

I didn't think I'd like the Fountain Tarot much but it's been great for clairvoyant readings
love Marshmallow Marseille, on top of my wishlist, well one of many ;) Thank you, Kelly
silly*me It’s a sweet and gorgeous little deck!
