A lot of babies here on their first race out and lacking experience. A touch of stage fright from Snow Dragon. Just unfortunate, I'm glad they are all OK.
A couple of these should not have been on a racecourse yet. They needed more schooling and were not ready for racing. These 3 year old juvenile hurdle races are not good for NH racing.
@@Strideway_jackie It's funny to me because if you are going to ride horses around racecourses, jumping over things - if that entertains you, then you've got to take the occasional bad with the good. Kinda a sideways dig at the whole idea of horse racing. A horse upsets the whole applecart - I find that amusing.
These horses look like real novices, theyre all over the place. But what do I know, I was admiring Snow Dragon before they set off, thinking how big and alert he looked. And then he 'blotted his copy book'.
Just for a brief moment, watching as the runners approached the first flight, with a sprightly grey horse bowling along at the front, I was reminded of Desert Orchid, one of the greatest jumpers, when he was a young hurdler, a headstrong front runner, occasionally breathtaking at his obstacles...Just for a very brief moment.
This is a prime example of why 3yo newcomers hurdles should be done away with asap, They are dangerous for the horses and jockeys involved, These horses clearly don't know what they are doing which a blind man can see and the punters are not interested in races which are a lottery so they serve no purpose, I suspect the proposal for these races came from the bookmakers themselves, Another brainless move by the BHA!
I hate to say it, but seeing this mayhem is making me re-think the youngsters. How many of these could have started when they were proper ready - mentally and physically. Not fair to the babies or the jocks. Fair play to all, they have to start somewhere. This surely has to be the exception to the rule.

How come with F1 you'd have a safety car lap immediately, but a horserace is NEVER halted even when a horse fucking breaks its legs? Not to mention 3 years is way too young to be ridden anyways.
Meanwhile, if racecourses in the UK were smart enough to have outrider ponies/horses, these horses could've been caught and not been a lingering issue on the track. This looks so old fashioned to not have the racehorses ponied to the starting gate/line. Get some outriders for safety's sake! How foolish.
All very green and one wonders what the trainers had done with these big babies before sending them to a track. The other factor was the very slow pace which will have played to insecurities and inexperience of the horses They never jump well at a slow pace and become complacent and casual if not set about their job immediately
NOVICE means inexperienced. Ever seen when Foinhaven won the Grand National? FB I was lucky enough to get to know John Buckingham. He was the barman at the pub I would go to while on contract near Banbury. What a true gentleman he was.
I've been following racing for forty years now and have seen a load of novice hurdles. But I have not seen novices behave like this. I thought the grey was gonna try and bite the leading horse down that home straight.
i used to bet with this guy and we would do a placepot together.....it was derby day at epsom and he wanted to banker a willie carson \dick hern 12\1 in the derby.....i thought 1 the horse wasnt that good and 2 wouldnt stay but i couldnt persuade so we bankered him....he came about 12th and my mate told me carson had deliberately pulled the horse..........how do you reply to that.........
And when the time comes I suspect my ashes will find their final resting place at the top of the hill - a place of solitude and skylarks in summer but where the denouement begins to boil to brutal in winter. At the top of the hill all the dreams are still alive, the triumphs and tragedies of the long swoop down and hard haul up the hill to victory yet to unfold before the rapt ranks in the stands.
Without soundint too old, in my day, trainers would never dream of running such green, untrained horses. It's a disgrace. Stewards should be having a word with those involved. Poor jockeys have a hard enough job without risking their necks on such green mounts.
i too am old , but this was a 3yo novice where none had raced before and all were gelded and only 1 horse caused the carnage so the ones bought down may of been fine . it reminded me of foinavons grand national .....
There is another race I’ve seen on TH-cam, where only one horse is left running the race. It was in the UK, not that long ago, the poor horse was running out of steam for the last few furlongs, you end up willing him on, just to make it to the finish line.🥴
BHA created this race. Imagine this being the grand national. Oh sorry this is just an ordinary 3 year notice hurdle. Surprised no horse injured or killed. 🤔
This is why the bookies love Skelton making sure many of there ,favs don't win and as a double hit on many punters ,when he s not on a fav he wins on unfanced horses bent as fk .
Worry about the horses. The jockey's are there by choice, and they're also not the ones who will get killed when things go sideways and they get hurt. Do you think any of those brave jockeys would be there if a broken leg meant death for them? Of course not. These horses are being used like crash test dummies and they don't have a choice in the matter.
These jockeys were they trying to force each other off because they were really Worthing these horses and right behind each other you know it was very stupid and dangerous especially cutting each other off at the jumps running in front of each other how to jump.
A lot of babies here on their first race out and lacking experience. A touch of stage fright from Snow Dragon. Just unfortunate, I'm glad they are all OK.
i can only guess at what hurdling 3 yr olds is doing to their joints.... YIKES!
That was so dangerous when the other horses fell I’m so glad they didn’t get hurt
All over the place. Babies not quite ready

Only babies.!
Not true they are ready Morston of them just fell bc of the grey
Their are 2 not ready
Well, an actual race environment is very different to a training environment
Can't tell without testing
i can only guess at what hurdling 3 yr olds is doing to their joints.... YIKES!
A horse with a sense of humor! Funniest horse race I've ever watched.
how is this funny?! the poor horse is terrified and they all could have been hurt so bad!

The grey was already spooky at the start
Ears pricked, needs more schooling, The one in blue.was spooked too
well, he IS a dragon..

Grey doesn't know when to jump and doubts itself. Super dangerous
Incredible any of the jockeys managed to stay seated
No tribute to Alasdair Down on the TH-cam page from Racing TV is extremely poor.
What's happened to him ??
@ DEAD
@GretaWright-x6f sad news
RIP Alistair
Jibby Jabby
what a story he could tell
That second fence was a mini-Foinavon fence. The loose horse(s) ran along the obstacle just as in 1967.
… that’s how they should race - no jocks, just let the horses run it …

The white horse was unfairly bigger than the others. Did the man on it fall off deliberately?
This wasn´t an accident.
It was a perfectly executed heist. Those two were on a mission, I tell you xd

This race should be called The Tory Party
No, open borders and Islamic immigration....
I agree to young to know what they're doing 😢
You have to start sometimes !!!
Shocking trainer running inextsperienced horse so dangerous it looked like not one of them horses had any experience of a recourse ever .
M8 it's a novice hurdle, they're animals at the end of the day & can be very unpredictable!

2 of these horse had not been schooled enough and were not ready to be raced.
As soon as I saw the grey horse alarm bells rang , his eyes were on stalks.
This is not dramatic.this is traumatic.
And a course punter had the nerve to call this a 'bent race ' 🤣
Presumably somebody slipped Snow Dragon a year's supply of carrots to get in the way?
Some people are bad losers and will blame anything but themselves 🤡

It was bent look the ride Skelton gave the horse refused to go past him 4 times. Then turned into a sprint after the last.
Only a jack in the box could win this one.

I’ve never seen such a race Gordon Bennett
2 of those horses need far more schooling
Gordon Elliott

@ 👍
The fiddle was on early 😂
No actual"Carnage" occurred
That happens when they walk and don’t run. The horses don’t know they have to jump.
It's so funny like Benny Hill's show !!!
Please a proper article to Alastair Down
I hate horse racing. This is cruel.
Wonder how much that horse was paid to do that?😂

he done well to win that race.
This race is a stark reminder of the state of the British economy.
The real winner was staying home and playing cards....
The flag spooked him.
are these all 3 yr olds are something??
Reminds me of a truck driver stuck in mud in the middle of a field claiming his GPS said to turn right here!!!!

Racing so unpredictable
sorry. but i laughed at the white horse. looked like he had a sense of humour. but glad all horses and riders were ok.
As they Honour the Man he passed On...Hmmmm some timing...
Foinavan all over again.
this is hilarious
Too many inexperienced horses in one race…quite a risk for a trainer!
Glad all ok tho!!!
Another favourite gone.. bookies be laughing
It certainly looks like some sort of sonic interference could have gone on here. Race should have been stopped
The only sonic interference is with your head.
Scrap 3yr old jump races. I’d scrap all under 3 yr olds from racing.
Sam twiston Davis, the in_form tries his balls off in every race..say know more bout Skelton...
Can you black flag a horse race?
Snowdragon, needs to be investigated, sure it has a secret bet on, jack the Boss.
Not worth it. They could lose their licenses for betting against their own mounts.
