Jon Welch of Sissiboo Coffee Roaster sat down for a conversation about coffee, creators and community.
Sissiboo Coffee Roaster is based in the tidal village of Bear River, where the roasting takes place. The community can visit one of two cafe's located in Annapolis Royal or Bear River. The cafe's have established an important collaboration with local community artists who showcase their works at the cafe, The local art displays rotate every 6 weeks. The cafe's are open year round and are anchors to community life in the region. The coffee beans are sourced fair trade and organic. Small batch roasting with a view to extract the best natural aspects of the coffee bean has translated into an immensely successful product. Sissiboo Coffee Roaster's products are distributed throughout the Maritimes - A leader in the community and Southwest Nova business.
