    Abaiang is the best island! I spent 7 months there and loved every moment of it! I visited 8 of the islands on kiribati and this one was my favorite! E mate nanou ikai! E boboto kiribati ao Ai morariki abaiang! i nang miss te tabo arei. E bon au kantaninga bwa n na oki n te bong teuana ma i aki ataia ngkana e na reke te tai... The kiribati people are the kindest people you will ever meet! I love them! I tangiringkami kain kiribati!

    I applaud the people of Abaiang for making this commitment to organic agriculture. Those unfamiliar with the island should know that there are no chemical pesticides readily available on there, so agriculture is organic by default.
    It will be interesting to see how the coconut sugar industry develops on Abaiang and in Kiribati. One way the Kiribati government can support this emerging industry is to reduce or eliminate its subsidy of imported cane sugar.
