I lost everything the first time 40 years ago when inflation was as high as now. Lost everything agian in 2000 when my ex wife left me. Lost it all agian in 2003 when I was arrested and sent to prison, Lost everything agian in 2018 during a cat 5 hurricane. The moral of my story is material things can be lost but as long as you have your self respect, work ethic, and knowledge the material things can be replaced. Listening to this while moving my flock of sheep & goats onto a fresh grass pasture. I've watched the soil improve over the years as my animals small hooves break up the capping, improving the number of species growing in the pasture and watching the soil become better able to hold moisture. Every human should have to, at least once in their life, be required to skin and gut a deer, a cow or a fish, trim off the meat and then consume it. And this after they had to live with the animals they consume for a couple of years. Would they become vegetarians? Nope, most would appreciate what it takes to achieve a balanced meal and realize they are blessed. To our degradation we have lost touch with life's realities.

Human beings are not obligate carnivores and a balanced diet can be achieved with relatively little effort. I loved eating meat providing someone else did the dirty murderous deed but have been happy to sacrifice my enjoyment of the taste and will continue to do so until the cruel barbarity that is intensive farming is halted - which won't be in my lifetime. We have indeed lost touch with life's realities when we have so little compassion for the other forms of life that we share this world with.

This is one of the most brilliant things I’ve ever heard.
Growing up with a mid-western farmer, I was taught to eat red meat, nuts, potatoes and veggies. We harvested walnuts, almonds, fruit trees, had our own garden. We ate meat 5 to 6 nights of the week. I cherish that knowledge my parents instilled in me, because raising my own children in this twisted society is hard enough. Adding an unbalanced diet to the mix would just make the job a lot harder!

I too grew up on a farm in the years before school... and dad had finished building our house in town. We returned what seemed like every weekend back out to the farm. All the family returned on weekends... when one job would pay the bills for the whole family.
A daily meal schedule went like this: a cuppa and something small before going out to bring in the cows to milk, a big breakfast then, fresh bucket of milk on the table, morning tea with another cuppa and fresh baked goods that my grandma cooked, a huge lunch, that we called dinner, then afternoon tea later. After that there often another decent meal, we called Tea (all meat based) with deserts, then supper before bed.
I used to cut away most of the fat from meat, apart from lamb and pork, I still love the flavour, but after watching tv series' like Alone and finally realised how important it was to my diet I no longer cut it away. Really, I'd stopped doing that long before those shows, but they brought to life the real importance of it. Any natural fat is good, but I don't live in a cold climate or a survival situation... except once, and only a day. (Much longer story)
I remember the first time I watched a sheep being slaughtered. I was about 3 at the time and thought it was absolutely fascinating, the same when I watched a pig dunked in a wooden barrel of boiling water to remove the hair. I only ever saw one steer (castrated bull) on a mate's farm processed. I was a little late getting up to see the full process, after hanging overnight, but... we need to eat, we need meat to live. I seen and processed myself, many chooks, or chickens as those in the US call adult chickens. Veggies, and there was a huge garden on the old farm, will only take a person so far. Plus, I'm allergic to soy, unless it's fermented into soy sauce. I don't like my throat closing up.

All that sewing to clothe the dolls, done by hand on her old sewing machine. She also took turns at working the school cafeteria ( it was only open on Fridays).
The world is a changed place these days.. It's parents like ours that built/supported these schools, only to have teachers start brainwashing our children with political beliefs from the institutions they are taught from. I saw the switch flip in my own sister's mind once she graduated, not to mention her school teacher husband.

I agree, even many professors and political advisors are blissfully ignorant and constantly use flawed methodologies or cite and use research that clearly is inaccurate, biased or flat out wrong due to methodological issues. When reading research papers it's quite normal to find a ton of peer reviewed research that is mildly idiotic. It's very frequent that they build research on for example compled formulas and models that are too complex for peer reviewers to bother checking and therefore get away with being at the very core completely wrong. Or using correct complex models but making far fetched assumtions that can't really be made from the model due to model and data limitations that aren't discussed. Science is a lot of bullshit low quality crap. Often this bullshit science then gets talked about by journalist as if it was definitely proven fact.

Agreed. With regard to mathematical models, the first rule is to validate the model. That is develope the model then apply it to a system. A model has input and output. The purpose of a model is to predict the the output from the input. If you validate the model by measuring the input of a real system and then compare the output from the real system to the output of your model then you know you model is accurate if both outputs match or inaccurate if they don't.
The problem with much "science", for example, climate science is that the models are not validated, in fact they are almost impossible to validate because there is no separate system to validate it on. There is only one earth which means the system you use to develop your climate model is the same one you are trying to predict. This inherently means you will consciously or subconsciously fudge your parameters and methods to achieve what you think should be the correct output.
If a grad student is developing a new model on global warming and his first attempt produces output showing cooling, he will guaranteed, think he has made a mistake or is missing a variable. He WILL find a way to make the output a warming trend. He will do this becaise he has been programmed his entire life to believe it should be a warming trend, his thesis supervisor and committee members will likely give him trouble over it and his career prospects would be diminished.
Kudos, to a speaker who, while criticizing the misled, controlled leadership, provides positive input to help resolve world problems, with constructive commentary.
