I have enjoyed several Bear Creek products over the years including the Clam Chowder. I substituted a couple of cups of whole (or 2% milk) for two of the eight cups of water. You can also add some sliced onion (or cooked) if you'd like (or chives, as you did). The milk will give it more body. I've had their minestrone, potato and cheese and broccoli soup in the past, all of which were good. Years ago, they used to have a hot and sour soup which I loved. It disappeared and I never saw it again. I guess it wasn't a big seller. As for other clam chowder soups, I agree with those recommending the Progresso and the Campbell's hearty clam chowder. The Aldi's "hearty clam chowder" and their corn chowder were just ok.
That seems like it would be good for just a quick no fuss meal. I used to really like the flavor of the Campbell's condensed clam chowder. I would add potatoes and clams, mix with half & half, and melt some butter in it. The taste was great. They changed the recipe at some point and it did nor taste as good to me. Nowadays I will do Progresso or Chunky if eating canned.
I like Progresso clam chowder. I add the bacon bits while heating the soup, also some corn, caned or frozen.

Next time I would add some whole milk or Half n half in place of a couple cups of water.
Hi John I am from Boston and we like Snows canned Clam Chowder give it a try.
I’ve had Snow’s. Not cheap, but probably the best tasting canned chowder I’ve had!

Those are good choices. I used to love the Campbell’s Manhattan clam chowder. Cant find it anymore. 🤷♂️
