For those who have not been out West you do not know what you are missing. Any amazing country and Lyle's song personifies the wonder of the West and how we should cherish those who made our safety possible!
I rode across the great high plains Under the scorching sun and through the driving rain And when I set my sights on the mountains high I bid my former life goodbye So thank you, man, I must decline For it's on my steed I will rely I've learned to need the open sky Well, I'm subject to the natural forces Home is where my horse is We loaded up in Buffalo And took 90 south down to Ohio On 80 west, I'm Frisco-bound And when I get there, I'll turn back around So thank you, man, I must decline For it's on these eighteen wheels I ride I learned to need the western sky Well, I'm subject to the natural forces Home is where my horse is And every year, they come to town And then drag 'em all right in the round And Mr. Bradley calls the score Of the cowboy there who'll try for more So thank you, man, I must decline For it's on my three-year-old I ride And I'll spin and run and stop and slide I'm subject to the natural forces Home is where my horse is The Cherokee and the Chickasaw The Creek Seminole and the old Chocktaw We volunteered to move, they say We'll understand come Judgement Day So thank you, man, I must decline For it's on this trail of tears I ride I've done the road, the homeless sky Sometimes at night, I hear their voices Home is where my horse is Now as I sit here safe at home With a cold Coors Lite and the TV on All the sacrifice and the death and woe Lord, I pray that I'm worth fighting for So thank you, man, I must decline For it's on my RPG I ride 'Til earth and hell are satisfied Well, I'm subject to the natural forces And sometimes at night, I hear their voices Home is where my horse is

that performance was more or less my introduction to Lyle Lovett, saw it at my mom’s house, haven’t been able to get enough of him since
Lyle makes the single life feel so good
Absolutely beautiful video. Song always brings a tear to my eye. Should have stayed out West.
This is the best live recording I have ever heard. pristine.
Lyle Lovett is a Natural Force 😊
A powerful song, powerfully delivered.
Tears. Really well done. Thank you.
Every. Single. Time. I cry at the part with the Trail of Tears & the Soldiers.
Not a Christian but amen...
Amen. My home IS where my horse(s) is (are)!!!! Perfect "anthem" for us! Thanks!!!
Horses should live with their owners...and visa versa. The bond deepens, and both will experience what 'home' really is. It's amazing and beautiful.
Perfect.
Again.. can't stay away........!!
I drove that I-80 from NYC.to The gay bay and back for 9 yrs. Sh*t roads and weather. A driver can pay his dues on that route.
Awesome.
*shawnee, pawnee, lenape and on, and on.*

I rode across the great high plains
Under the scorching sun and through the driving rain
And when I set my sights on the mountains high
I bid my former life goodbye
So thank you, man, I must decline
For it's on my steed I will rely
I've learned to need the open sky
Well, I'm subject to the natural forces
Home is where my horse is
We loaded up in Buffalo
And took 90 south down to Ohio
On 80 west, I'm Frisco-bound
And when I get there, I'll turn back around
So thank you, man, I must decline
For it's on these eighteen wheels I ride
I learned to need the western sky
Well, I'm subject to the natural forces
Home is where my horse is
And every year, they come to town
And then drag 'em all right in the round
And Mr. Bradley calls the score
Of the cowboy there who'll try for more
So thank you, man, I must decline
For it's on my three-year-old I ride
And I'll spin and run and stop and slide
I'm subject to the natural forces
Home is where my horse is
The Cherokee and the Chickasaw
The Creek Seminole and the old Chocktaw
We volunteered to move, they say
We'll understand come Judgement Day
So thank you, man, I must decline
For it's on this trail of tears I ride
I've done the road, the homeless sky
Sometimes at night, I hear their voices
Home is where my horse is
Now as I sit here safe at home
With a cold Coors Lite and the TV on
All the sacrifice and the death and woe
Lord, I pray that I'm worth fighting for
So thank you, man, I must decline
For it's on my RPG I ride
'Til earth and hell are satisfied
Well, I'm subject to the natural forces
And sometimes at night, I hear their voices
Home is where my horse is
A wonderful talent😂
